You'll also gain the first 6 or 8 costumes for each of the characters, with the exception of I believe Raidou and Honoka.
All other costumes are DLC you'd still be expected to purchase separately.
Currently there's a sale on it at
Green Man Gaming [www.greenmangaming.com]
Technically though, on PC it's impossible to get the "full game" anyhow because they didn't implement the full online here, only ranked. Plus it's missing 2 stages from the PS4 version and the soft engine graphical improvements.
First, get the free 'core fighters' version of this game. Make sure everything runs right. Many people have issues with the controller code so its best to test the game out with that. It's got 4 fully functional fighters, too, so you can play it for quite some time. Then get the 'full game' which is everything except 2 fighters and a rediculous number of costumes. If you really enjoy the game, think about getting the two fighters.
If you really like costumes, look into the modding scene. You shouldn't have any problem getting your fill.
Then it shouldn't be listed as "Full game"
Hmm? PS4 has improved graphics? Honestly, last I recall the PSN store was NUTS with the amount of DLC.
On Steam there are only the packs with no Season passes, so that means we miss out on the free outfits they came with and also it makes purchasing everything way more expensive.
Really the Outfit pack DLC's are just bonuses, they don't add anything of worth, especially not for the price. On Steam, we're missing the outfit catalogs that the console versions have which means that your opponents online can't even see your outfits you spent tons of money on. Plus, packs with Costume changes/Costume damage don't even have that feature on steam because we don't have the DX11 version running the Soft Engine like the current gen consoles do. And what's more is they don't even include the alternate costumes in those packs as another slot. You're just paying for less content than the console equivalent.
Finally, we're missing stages that were released in certain packs, the Aizuchi stage, which came with Naotora and the Attack on Titan stage which came with the AoT DLC pack (no longer purchasable due to the license expiring) were missing for the same reasons as the graphical effects and costume damage.
PS4 and XBO run DX11 at 1080p with 2xFSAA.
PS3 and 360 run DX9 at 720p.
Steam runs DX9 at up to 4K with up to 4xMSAA.
Benefit of DX11 is that they can use more particle effects (new danger zones in console exclusive stages and costume changes mid-match) and sub-surface scatter (more "realistic" lighting on the character skin).
Well since it's using DX9, nvidia cards should be able to use the CP to enchance it a bit, albeit no extra effects and such.
Thanks anyway, I'd just like to purchase a simple pack that has everything :p
Don't support them if you enjoy games.
Like I said before, though, you do NOT want everything. That would be something like 1000 outfits - it's vast overkill. If you really want that many costumes, go hunt down mods. You can find 1000 of those for sure.
You don't have to support anyone you don't choose to.
I however, don't care about politics in video games, nor do I care for the opinion of people like Anita Sarkeesian.
If something is listed as "full" then I expect the product to be full. It is not full if it is "this stuff but not this, this or this, not this either, but it does have this, though it doesn't include this that or whatever"
*eye roll* all you want, but you should look up the definition of full. "not lacking or omitting anything; complete" If it is stating it is full, then it should be full.
Fair enough, but they should update the language to reflect the sales. I don't care for DLC (unless it's proper DLC like it use to be many years ago, you know, a proper expansion with new locations, weapons, characters etc depending on the game, not single items charged at 3-5 bucks a piece) but I do like to pay one lump for a full product especially if it's labled as such. One of the issues I have with fighting games is how they trickle in a lot of crap, even if it's unneeded stuff I've never been a fan of having a store button or buy this icons littered all over the place as it just feels like I'm seen as a wallet, rather than a mutually beneficial partnership where I give them a big chunk of change and they give me a finished product. It might be the norm for fighting games, but it never use to be and just because it is now, doesn't mean it should be accepted
The store and promotional stuff on the main menu actually weren't in the original release on Steam, iirc it came after they made the game F2P. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of that either. It's really in your face XD. It'd be nice if you could minimise it but it's too far gone for that now. DoA 6 is on the horizon. I hope they deal with DLC in a more responsible manner but it's KT so who knows?
