Just a reminder:

Notice,
#DOA5LR players, from 9/11(Wed) you will no longer be able to purchase "THE KING OF FIGHTERS" collaboration DLC. Those who have purchased the DLC(Character and costumes) prior will retain full use. Be sure to get it before it is too late.

Along with the "THE KING OF FIGHTERS" collaboration DLC, "Season Pass 5" including bonus costume "Nyotengu -School Teacher costume" will also become unavailable to purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Note; Mai and Kula, as well as their costume DLC for DoA 6 will still be available. It's just the KoF DLC for DoA5LR which is being discontinued.

They really need to negotiate their license usage in a different way.
They should work their contracts so they can use them indefinitely for that entry.

I get that it's expensive to do that, but they really should work out a different deal.

Well, DOA5 as a whole is no longer supported and it's been up for quiet a few years already. This is how it's always going to be with collabs sadly.

Unless they just do collabs with IP's they already own, i.e. Momiji/Rachel from Ninja Gaiden or Naotora from Samurai Warriors.

Which King of Fighters characters are DLC? I know Mai is one, was there another? Want to find out so I don't miss out on getting them.

In DoA5LR, it's just Mai Shiranui (and the costumes for her). But there's also a King of Fighters Collaboration Costume set which is also being discontinued.

Wow, I didn't know this DLC will be removed.
The problem is that the full game has not been sale for 2 years. Does anyone know if I can get the free version, buy only Mai, and after a while buy the full game?

Steam won't display a message saying "you can't buy it because you already have it in your library" or something?

Yep, I'm pretty sure you can do that. Can you refund DLC if it doesn't work?

I could swear the game was on sale once over the last year. Mai has almost never been on sale, though.

P.S. Yeah, looks like DoA6 mods are starting to get a foothold. Tifa and Samus are in. No Lara Croft, though.

Maybe because they want you to play DOA6 instead? <shrug> You would think they would have a "DOA5+Everything" bundle for $30 by now, too. Though maybe they couldn't do that because the KoF stuff was scheduled to leave?

Since this will apparently be my last opportunity to do so, I'll file my final complaint here over Ayane and Kasumi getting the primary colors for Yuri Sakazaki and Kasumi Todoh, and Hitomi and Kokoro getting the alternates instead. That's some garbage ninja-chick privilege, especially in the case of Yuri. Ayane has no business wearing a Kyokugenryu Karate gi.

Also, Mila and Christie should have gotten Leona outfits, or maybe a King outfit in Christie's case. But as DoA6 proved, none of the serious KoF women are allowed in this franchise. Can't be broadening the appeal of the roster to a new potential audience. That's not what guest characters are for, apparently. Just bring in character types you already have instead. Can't wait to see them do it yet again with the third DLC character.

Alright, rant over, gotta move on, especially from DoA5 stuff.
