Can't activate DLC?
Hi, played the game on PS4 so i already knew I wanted Naotora and Mai. Purchased DLC before the download for the main game was complete, now I can't get the game to recognize my DLC despite installing the DLC and even reinstalling the game.

Tried buying Zack ingame via steam overlay to see if my DLC was bugged, but the game verified that purchase flawlessly. What should I do?

Did you check the DLC and make sure it was installed? Also, just to make sure, you aren't using the beta version right?

Yeah, steam even downloaded a small file while installing the DLC as well. What do you mean by the beta version though?

Before the beta version had online mode but then I found out later that the actual game had online mode added and didn't know cuz i was still using the beta version to play online and some dlc wasn't working ..

All my dlc work (Have almost all dlc except like five of them and the DoA ultimate pack). I have the full game though.

Yeah, I didn't get this game on steam until today, so I think I'm on the actual game.

I still can't use my purchased characters, all it does is show me the You Must Purchase the character stuff, despite the DLC showing as installed on my steam.

Is there any way I can contact the devs about this?

OK so you got the free core game then purchased Naotora, Mai, and Zack. Only Zack showed up. You did a complete re-install. They still didn't show up.

Have you looked at the game in your library to make sure the checkboxes are checked? Steam might have gotten confused about setting those if you bought them while the game was installing. It's possible the DLC is installed but disabled.

Hi Feather.

I had the same issue as you with the game not recognizing the installed DLCs but verifying my cache fixed it for me.

Game Library -> Right Click on DOA -> Properties -> Local Files ->Verify integrity of Game Cache.

Steam updated the missing/corrupted files and now I can use my paid DLCs in game.

I have the same issue with you, OP. I bought DOA 5 Last Round (full game) which came as a bundle with unlocked characters and story mode.

Story mode is locked.
Only 2 characters are playable.
Store won't open in-game.
Verifying integrity of game cache did nothing unfortunately.

Update: reinstalling the dlc did nothing.

Smashthosepies - I don't know what's going on with your game but that's VERY strange. There's no way you can just have two fighters playable. Even the free version has four!

Definitely check the checkboxes in your library but the store not opening is really messed up. Can you even activate the Steam overlay with shift-tab? Both in this game and in other games?

Thanks for the suggestions, Zloth. Oh my bad, I definitely have four playable characters. I can also activate the Steam overlay with no issues.

Feather, were you able to fix the issue? If so, what did you do?

Me too, I refunded the game before. Now the DLC wouldn't be activated after I repurcahsed the game on steam.

Me too, I refunded the game before. Now the DLC wouldn't be activated after I repurcahsed the game on steam.

I would like to do that but I got the full game bundle at 50% off. I don't want to risk missing out on the sale. I already submitted a ticket to Steam support. I hope that would be helpful.

After contact steam support for 2 weeks, they asked me to contact KOEI TECMO official support instead. Well anyone have luck with their DLC being unlocked after contacting support?

I got the same message from Steam. KOEI TECMO support hasn't been very helpful either. They've responded to me twice. First, to verify integrity of cache. Second, to uncheck DLC boxes and recheck. They have yet to respond a third time.

It's just frustrating since those are the exact same things I've told them I've already done. It's like they don't read my message at all.

I will update when I hear back.

Edit: On the bright side, they respond within 24 hours, unlike Steam which took 2 weeks.

Well that's sad, I want to play this game and don't want to make a refund for a second time. And it would just be a hassle to contact steam support for a refund after passing 2 weeks limit time.

After telling the support the issue they promised me to verify the situation. Then they told me that It is most likely that the Steam client is in offline mode and taught me how to put steam in online mode again. Time to have a refund :)
