XBOX gamepad not working in DOA 5?

i have a xbox controller and a thrustmaster wheel connected to my pc but what happens is that sometimes my gamepad don't work in doa instead of it game starts to take input from my wheel.This is very irritating bec everytime i have to unplug my wheel's usb cable ,restart my pc only to get my gamepad work again in the game please help anyone?

follow these steps and your xbox controller will work just fine:

1) press windows+R on keyboard

2) type joy.cpl in the dialog box

3) go to advanced and choose your xbox gamepad as your preffered device

4) restart your pc and your xbox gamepad will be recognized as your primary controller

i did but still game is taking input from my wheel

Sorry, but you need to unplug the wheel. Honestly, you're lucky your controller even works. The developers did an exceptionally poor job handling controllers in this game. (Which is why I beg people to try the free version first every chance I get... like the way I'm sticking this in right now.)

you are right zloth I also think that there is no other way other than unplugging your wheel

Does the keyboard work at all to at least make menu selections
? It wont for me. Wired USB keyboard.

I have the same issue. Some weeks ago it just worked fine with the Xbox360 Xinput device. I haven't change anything in my configs. The weird thing is, that not even Keyboard input works to get past the start screen.
