, but I believe using the Mac, it will be somewhere else (just google), open SlotA.options, or SlotB.options in txt editor (whichever slot you're using in EtG). Under "preferredResolutionX": 1600, & "preferredResolutionY": 900, you can set your own res. (I'm using 1600x900). Save it, and change this file to *Read Only*, so the game can't modify it.
I think this should work, but of course if you want to start changing any other game settings, this file need to be changed to normal attributes.
Revert the config file I mentioned before, to default (read/write), and try choosing resolution to one of your screen aspect ratio (16:10=1:1.6 like 2560×1600, 1920×1200 etc.) but try changing scaling options to Fast Scaling, Uniform or Pixel Perfect. To be honest, there's no point running EtG in your monitor native resolution, as you will see BIG performance hit, and game assets/graphics are rendered in MUCH lower resolution anyway (and then upscaled).
When game reverts back to 2880 x 1756, what scaling option it is using? Can you choose 2880x1620 with "pixel perfect" scaling? It's the closest res. to your native's one, but proper 16:9 ratio.
BTW, holding Shift button, when launching EtG in Steam, will open graphics & controls settings outside the game itself. Maybe forcing changes this way will work....
//This works in Windows Steam client, not sure about Mac.
