Tips for maximizing chances of finding a Glitch Chest

So basically the only thing I haven't done in this game is complete a glitch chest encounter and I've been grinding for a while to try and find one. Here are some things I've been doing to attempt and maximize my chances.

-Running floors 1, 2 and 3 only since glitch chests can't appear anywhere else.
-Only shooting 2 targets in the shooting minigame to spawn a green chest (not sure if that chest can actually spawn in glitched, or for that matter if any green chest spawning can become glitched.
-Purchasing any synergy chests as I've heard they can be glitched as well.
-Avoiding curse so that more random chests spawn, hopefully a glitch chest. (sometimes I'll try to get 1 curse in case there's a black market for another chance at target game).
-Checking all rooms for secrets in case a glitch chest is in a secret room.

Probably more stuff I can't think of atm. I do occasionally take breaks from this glitch chest rush but it's like the last thing I need in terms of unique content in the game. Any more tips would be appreciated. Not cheating or using mods to do this.

farm coolness in your runs if you can via cigarettes, I personally would just keep playing the game normally, as it wont destroy your enjoyment of gungeon as quickly (i tried to farm for the rubensteins and high dragunfire and i ended up stopping after probably a dozen hours) only to find them both in normal runs

also if you really really wanna find the glitch chest you can just restart rainbow mode (each rainbow chest still has the 1/1000 chance to be glitched) and it'll work like normal, and you'll be teleported to the next floor with a rainbow chest for an item to give you a chance

Yeah farming coolness I forgot to mention but yeah as much coolness as possible haha.

Also I'm trying to do this w/out rainbow run so I can A) stand a chance against the boss and B) not feel like I did it cheaply lol.

Also how does cigarettes work? Is the +coolness from smoking permanent (until the run ends)?

Yeah each coolness lasts forever even if you drop the ciggies or sell them

Okay good to know. I'd always smoke any extra hearts and then some at the end of each floor haha. I definitely do mix it up occasionally with these runs, like if I find lil' bomber or something OP for gunslinger (or precious PRECIOUS clone) I'll do a full 10 floor run just to keep things interesting lol. Sometimes I do the alternate 5 floors as I like to call it (Floor 1, oubliette, floor 2, abbey, floor 3, reset. Rarely seeing floor 4 or 5 these days lol

thats great, I tend to do nine floor runs as I like to abuse the save and continue exploit that resets your magnificence, which for i suggest for people to do atleast every once in a while cause its a lot of fun to get a lot of extra A-S tier items

Oh magnificence triggers on A-tier items as well? That blows lol. Yeah I've always done that anytime I get an S-tier, must've have not read the A-tier part haha

Yup. One of the only problems I've ever had with the game, but I don't mind taking an extra couple of seconds to basically erase it

You only have to save&exit and continue right? Or do you have to close the game completely and relaunch?

Okay that's what I figured. I've encountered one glitch chest before as robot and it had a fuse and I had no keys, didn't know you could put out fuses until afterwards. Been chasing that dream ever since lmao

This also reminds me I never enter Floor 1,2 or 3 without a key now lmfao. Never use them until I have 1 more key or have explored the whole dungeon.

that's always a good idea IMO, I like to collect money for shops so I don't but keys very much (I only aim for passives in a run) so I don't tend to need much, but I always try to carry atleast one per floor, and two for some certain floors like floor three and the oubliette

IDK if this is common knowledge, but there’s a shrine where you can use a blank and get a chest. Last I played, you could *keep* using blanks and occasionally get an additional chest. I hope that’s still a thing. The only glitched chest I ever got was achieved by that method, and I died basically instantly
