[solved] 1366 x 768 screen problems

With a laptop that has a 1366 x 768 screen the ONLY WAY to play the game in fullscreen without the pixelart being deformed or without the game cropped down to a little window if pixelperfect is on, is in resolution 1024 x 600.

This is how it looks with pixelperfect on in every other resolution

I would be cool with this but.... See that gray rectangle in the right corner ? That's from steam achivements poping up. Playing on a monitor like this in 1024 x 600 leaves an empty space on the sides and that rectangle stays there every time steam shows an achievement. Every time i have to turn V-sync on and off to get rid of it. Not to mention that every time i return to the breach after a run, steam will show the breach NPC achievement progress 9/12...

I guess i could turn off the steam annotations but at the same time i kinda like to know when i get an achievement. I guess i could play without pixel perfect... but i refuze to do that.

I bet every player that has a monitor like this and wants to play in pixel perfect is a little disappointed that the game simply has no support for this type of screen. I would be fine with 1024 x 600 if it didn't have these empty spaces on the side. I don't mean the black bars, i mean the void that is next to those black bars that's like behind the game border or something which makes steam overlays glitch out.

Everything around that's black doesn't glitch with steam overlays. There's no "void", all of it is the game's window. The game shrinks into this tiny square in every other resolution option i got if i want pixel perfect besides 1024 x 600 but that one has the glitch.

Could the devs do anything about this ? Make the game border a tad bigger in 1024 x 600 so steam doesn't glitch out at least ? Or add a resolution option that will fill up that space with an actual black bar ? Could you really not find a solution for 16:9 screens that doesnt make the pixels look like a mess or fit an entire screen?

I don't see the problem with 1366x768 stretched. The art doesn't look deformed in my opinion.

The bars sound like a bug though.

I am also confused by what the problem you are trying to present is. Are you saying that you don't like having a 1024x600 resolution with 1366x768 pixel perfect, or are you saying that dropping your resolution down to 1024x600 is causing the problem?

Because I don't even have the option to change my resolution to 1024x600. The closest I have is 1024x768. I do get those gray bars on the side, and the black bars on the side are just as large as pixel perfect in 1366x768.

That's your opinion. In my opinion every letter looks like it got injected with fat but only in random spots, sometimes. What i mean is text looks terrible if you dont play in pixel perfect and so does the rest of the game that has pixels (which is everything)

What i want ?

Add a resolution option that will fill up the whole screen and is close to 1024 x 600. So i can play the game in actual full screen, without the art being all jankedup AND without it having an annoying grey rectangle in the corner, so i dont have to go to options every 10 minutes to get rid of it.

1024x768 is pretty close.

And it's going to look grosser at a lower resolution anyway.

Output resolutions are not infinitely scalable in fullscreen mode. They're limited to what both the video card and the OS are capable of doing as a resolution. Just play with stretch on.

It is close. It's stretched because it is not exact.

You will not get a perfect res because you do not have a 16:9 monitor.

The whole screen is covered, those black bars do fill it up. Steam overlay does not glitch with those !!!

The black bars end at the red line that i marked. Again... No other resolution makes the game so big with pixel perfet on my screen.

Explain to me why can't they add a resolution option that is slightly wider ?
What about 1152 x 648 ? Isn't that 16:9 ? Would that work ?
1024 x 576 ?
1040 x 585 ?
1056 x 594 ?

There's a whole freakin list of resolutions to pick from that i just found through google for this type of screen and you tell me they CANT do it ? They can adjust the black bars however they wish to fill in those blank spaces dood.

I have a feling you still don't quite understand what i'm talking about so i'll stop trying to explain it. If a dev reads this he will get what i mean and that's what counts. They put that red text warning there for a reason, they know it will make the game look like crap and it does so plz... guys...

1366/16=85.375*9=768.375

1366x768 is not true 16:9 because you can't have .375 of a pixel row. Serously, just play at native in borderless.

1366x768 also fills up the whole screen, the black bars also fit perfectly but in pixel perfect the game is tiny. Borderless or not doesnt make a damn difference. You also don't get what i mean, probably didnt even read through the thread so "seriously" buzz off.

The only resolution where the game is going to be pixel perfect and NOT be tiny is 1920x1080 because the game assets are 960x540. Your options are tiny or stretched.
