Mega bees (item set/transformation?)

So I just had a run where I got the bee hive weapon, and for some reason it was shooting enormous bees, almost the size of my character.

I didn't have any items that change my projectiles, like fat bullets or anything like that. I did have the Honeycomb item, though. These are the items I had that run[i.imgur.com] (I forget how to embed images on steam forums)

Even managed to kill the Old Bullet King with just 300 bees and nothing else, whereas he usually takes like 3 to 4 full weapon's worth of ammo to kill. To the best of my knowledge I had no damage buffs from shrines or the like.

Is there a hidden interaction betweeen the two items? If so, are there any other hidden "item sets" out there?

Various passive items synergize guns You probably had Honey Comb and the hive which makes bees stronger.

Having 1 or more Junk and the Trash gun is also one of the synergy buffs.
