what happens when you buy something from the shop?
i bought a gun from the weapon shop (in the breach) and i still start with the pistol, is there a problem?

You unlock it for being dropped in the gungeon. You don't get to start with them.

It's how roguelikes work! Items don't transfer from one game to the next...

idk seems kinda wierd that you pay to get different items than the ones you already get

Buying guns in the shop is the game's way of progression. Instead of unlocks for, lets say, beating Gatling Gull, you get X Hegemony credits where you choose what to unlock (from a limited pool). This way, if people are struggling with harder floors, they can still get credits and unlock better weapons.

Yes. You are unlocking more RNG, that's it.
