How to kill the hammer monster in chamber 5 ?

Everything is in the title, I reached 3 times the chamber 5 and three times died super stupidly to that monster.
I am utterly clueless on how to damage it, I tried to dodge and shoot when it's down but it doesn't seem to work ...
Help please, I'm a bit sick to sacrifice my great runs on ONE monster which causes me more troubles than bosses ... (epic joke).

That's what I thought last time but the doors were shut ... maybe I was tired and didn't realized it was a closed door. My bad then I guess, but this thing is SO annoying when you carry that dumb tv around.

There's two types of these hammers. The stationary time, which act as a trap within a room. If you kill the mobs it'll go away. Then there's the one that follows your character. This one will always exist within the room and is more of a continuous trap. I've only encountered one room type with the homing hammer, but its just a puzzle and the doors aren't locked.

There are also rooms with a hammer that follows you that disappears after you kill all enemies.
