To the Gungeoneers who have Killed the Past [SPOILERS]

Who was the first character you did it as, and if you've done more who's past was your favourite, who was your least favourite and who gets the best bonus skin?

My first character I did it as was the Marine, took me a 2nd try to get it but it felt pretty good saving everyone, and fighting the thing was pretty fun.

I've also done it as the Hunter and Pilot and the Pilot has to be my favourite out of them so far, it was so different to the average fight and it felt awesome, the invulnerability frames seemed generous but it still took me a 2nd try.

I didn't really get the Hunter's past, like she was basically trying to stop someone from making a sword(?), he was going to give her a new body but then she had to fight the body he made? The fight it's self had a few cool attacks but it was over faster than I could get in any trouble, beat it my first try using basically just the pistol, and then she kindof just leaves.

The Pilot's bonus skin is pretty dope and I know I'll be using it every time.

For those who'll be posting about the Robot or the Bullet guy, spoiler tags are not required, but would be appreciated.

Oh yeah, if not Pilot for me, definitely Hunter would have the best skin, love it.

I only killed the past as the Hunter.

Her dog is named Junior 2, but in the past she calls the dog Junior. I always wondered what happened the the original Junior, I guess he passed away after she got captured and frozen.

So uh, killing the past basically means "You go back in time, but you bring Blanks to prevent whatever happened to the character from happening" right? I mean, I only killed the Hunter's past so that's all I can infer from it.

just can not understand what made that Marine get into the gungeon at all, while the rest was captured he used some escape pod to get away, but why the hell would he chose the gungeon?

the outside was "safer" then the inside (speaking with the npc's will tell you that).

Yeah though I don't really understand what happens to the Hunter that makes her want to kill the past, as besides saving Junior she did seem to have been put into her new body or anything like that, unless Junior sacrificed himself to get her out of there, but we can only really assume.

I assume it was probably just to save the crew he ran away to abandon, and from what the NPC's say, it sounded like to me that the Marine tended to run away from things like it before, so he basically wanted to redeem himself from what I could tell.

not quite right.

killing the past = you turn time back, but compared to before you are "prepared", fighting whatever you did not before (because you run away, or, in the state of the hunter, could not defend yourself against)

edit: and you try not to get into the gungeon this time/stop it's creation

First was Hunter, then Pilot, Convict, and Marine. In that order.

My favorite one was the Pilot. That fight though!
Least favorite was probably the marine. A tad bland.

I really like the Hunter's and Marine's bonus skins. Also the convicts, she looks badass,

My first character was the Pilot, I usually played as Hunter but tried Pilot for random funsies and somehow managed to get all the way.

He was also my fav past too, so that was handy. Hunter's skin is still the best though.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but The Robot doesn't have a past, I tried but the blacksmith straight up wouldn't give me the bullet, I can only assume The Bullet is the same, I'll try sometime any way, gotta unlock his sword after all

Makes sense. Im confused how the Hunter brought blanks from the Gungeon if she's suppossed to only have her gear from the past, but I guess I'm not suppossed to think about it. Or she somehow figured out how to make them herself after becoming so familar with them in the Gungeon?

Well in hindsight Robot having no past does kindof make sense, as it would seem the blacksmith just makes it right there

I'd assume the Bullet guy would have something, but I have yet to unlock him to test it myself.

First Gungeoneer: Pilot (though I almost beat marine's first, but I had to go in again)

Least Favourite: Hunter
Favourite Alternative Skin: Hunter

Convict's past is pretty great too, but the Pilot's past is just so epic. I've got NO CLUE who that woman is for the HM Absolution, most likely some form of admiral or other high ranking official, but that's what I love about it! I love her expression, I love the feeling of futility of fighting back and how badass it feels when you take that ship down!
