Yes, i think that that's the one who gives you a curse, but also picking some items gives you one more (you can tell by the purple skull that appears over your character's head when picking said items).
after some testing :)
being slightly cursed is just AWESOME :)))
the amount of additional money is incredible :)
being fully cursed is basically instant death with the reaper...
Some items are not "worth it" though, like the huntsman and the fightsabre, which are cursed only because the gungeon hates non-bullet based weapons, not because they are too strong.
Being cursed doesn't just give you more money, it gives you more ammo drops too, so the bullet sponge bit is only an issue if you are getting bored or getting hit. You won't run out of ammo on them.
This might be the only time I have ever seen anyone say that the fightsabre is not one of the best guns in the game, much less not even worth the curse it gives. You can safely and easily kill bosses practically with just reloading with the fightsaber, and it has enough ammo (plus reload reflection to do damage without using ammo) that you'll never need another gun for the rest of the run unless you get insanely unlucky with ammo drops. (Huntsman isn't bad either for the reload safety.)
Anyway, I always try to get 1 curse for the demon head doors, but even beyond that I like a little curse because the occasional jammed enemy really doesn't bother me but the extra money they drop can definitely help. I definitely try to stay below 7 to avoid jammed bosses though, and rarely just decide to go above 2 or 3 off of cursed pots in order to keep my options open for stealing and cursed items later in the run.
