Should I be using the gunswap slowdown as much as I do?

I really enjoy the feature of time moving super-slow when you switch guns. It allows you to go into rooms and use multiple different guns easily and tactically. Some people tend to rely on one gun for clearing the floor and another for the boss, but I'm really getting used to using whatever gun is best for the moment. And it feels great to weaken foes with an automatic weapon and slow-switch to explosives and finish them off.

But I started using the slowdown to read boss bullet patterns. I was having trouble with Wallmonger so I used slowdown to time my dodge rolls better. And It's safe to say I beat the Dragun only because I used slowdown on some of his patterns.

Am I actually suppossed to be using weapon-switching this way...? Looking at the recent release of SUPERHOT I feel like the devs could have made it for this purpose. But it's in a bullet hell so I can't really tell if it's cheese or not.

I find it easier to just use the number keys.

how exatly do you use the sowdown gun swap because im still unable to click on the gun i want so i just mouse wheel

You still mousewheel to select the gun, but it gives you the time to pick it rather than all your swapping being in realtime.

The game's a lot easier if you use it in some situations. It can help for figuring out which way to dodge if a hail of bullets is flying into you.

I just don't know if that's the intended use. Could go either way.

I think it's Left Control? I mean, that's what mine is. Check your binding/buttons in your options menu, set it to what's best for you if ctrl feels weird.
