Anyone figure out the mirror room?

Found a room with a mirror... on the map it symbolizes a chest in the room... but it must be a secret.

My initial instinct was to just shoot the mirror... even if something bad happened (7 years bad luck)

I think in retrospect I should of used a blank to spawn the chest...

But I'm not sure because after like 15 runs, this is the first and only time I encountered this room..

Anyone figure it out?

You should be able to see part of the chest in the mirror. It's hidden in the room, so just go around mashing the use key (default "E" if using a keyboard). You'll get a rank of curse, but meh. Just means there's a chance of a red enemy appearing that does a full heart of damage per bullet, and has about double health.

Okay thanks, didn't even notice that... just walked up to it, didn't see anything in it and shot it... LOL

if you get cursed, bosses might be buffed (and thus red) as well. I had that happen after i stacked 2 instances of curses. Beating such a boss gives you an achievment though ;)

Also be careful, as some of the chests that you find in these rooms are mimics. I just found that out the hard way and it mauled me.

If you break the mirror, can you still get to the chest? I can't seem to find it in there and I just shot it on instinct after trying to interact with it and nothing happened.

you dont break the mirror. you look around the room using the reflection in the mirror. the chest is invisible in the real world but visible in the mirror. interact with the space where the reflection chest is and you will get the chest. but be careful the chest can be a mimic as well

Thanks ddreamer, I got all of that from the other comments before me, I just wasn't sure if it was still able to be opened if you broke the mirror before opening it. I found out on the wiki a few minutes ago that you cannot access it if you shoot the mirror beforehand. Just incase anyone else was wondering.

Yeah There's a Chest in the room, you WILL get a Curse Mark, though if it's your first one, you're fine. Use the Mirror to show you the location of said chest.

I was playing the Huntress and found this room, so I searched up this thread. Junior was barking like mad but I assumed it was because he was like "lol there's a Secret here!"
TURNS OUT IT WAS A MIMIC. Just FYI the chest can be a mimic.

Well one mirror smash gives you 3,5 Curse... so if you see brown / blue chest may be it is not such a great idea
