Can't use a key after a failed lockpick?
Just a heads up, cuz I just had this happen to me. Use the lockpick only when you don't have keys (or you don't really care about the chest).

Yeah. Failing a lockpick effectively breaks the lock. So dont ever use lockpicks or locked doors, only times i use the pick is when there are no keys or the chest is low enough tier that im willing to risk it.

Tiers FYI. The chests colour says it all. Borwn wood chest usually dont contain anything THAT interesting. Blue chest are ok, green chests are good. Red chests are usually AWESOME and black chests... well. Finidng those is a rare occurence and those chests usually have some extraordinary.

Once i found the portable cannon from serious sam in one.. YAY.

The lock pick is a complete waste of time swap it asap.
You get one chance per lock .. which is OK .. but then it breaks the lock so u can't even be forced to use a valuable key. They really need to change this so you can still use a key. I used the lock pick on the secret locked hatch it failed so I went the shop and bought a key only to find out the lock is broken and not even the key will open it. Grrr.
If it fails on a chest you can still shoot it open, but on the hatch that doesn't work. Please allow keys to still be used after a failed lock pick attempt then it's worth keeping.

It would be incredibly strong if you could at no risk use it on every single chest. It has a "fairly high" chance of working considering the value you get out of it working.

I don't agree, it's about 50/50 for me, one chance only per lock and then your forced to use a key, would make the lock pick useful. ( or the devs could Nerf the lock pick a bit more to balance it out).

Yeah what a stupid design. Obviously nobody's going to use the item at all.
