[Spoiler] Seriously...? You kill the past and...
[Spoilers below...]
Have to try and beat a boss you never fought before, with no items to help you out or anything else you collected, and promtly get murdered? Ugh, come on, atleast you can practice the dragon to some degree, and get stuff to help you out.

I'm sure i could probably beat it with enough attempts, but how often am i gonna even get the CHANCE to do it? Damn thing's as hard as the dragon, but no retries, no practicing, no nothing!
Ugh... Suppose those blessings i've unlocked but never used yet don't help with this?

Atleast let me retry the damn thing or something. This has been the most cruel waste of my time yet. Beating the dragon with a crappy set of weapons is hard enough.
If you're wondering, it was the Pilot's past. Suppose no-one has any miraculous tips or anything...

You get two blanks and solid weapons for every past. If you can beat the Dragun with crappy weapons you should have no problem with the pasts.

Well, once you've unlocked it, you can talk to the forge lady and get a bullet that can kill the past on each of your run, so like any boss in the game, just make another run and you will have another shot at it.

I don't really get why you were thinking about retries/practicing. No boss let you do that.

The pilot past seems harder than the others, try the hunter past.

The Pilot's past is the easiest of the four. Just don't forget to spam his active item all the time. I had far more trouble with the Marine's past.

Still, all four past bosses are Chamber 1 tier. I don't think they were designed to be particularly challenging.

Or the Marine, preferably. Besides your base pistol you get a Hegemony Carbine (if I remember it right?) and the boss is waaay easier than the Dragun.

Frankly, have you SEEN how long it can take before you get another shot at those bosses!? I could be doing over 10 runs before i manage to beat the dragon. In that time, any skill and practice accumulated against that boss has vanished or diminished VASTLY.

I did not get this far because i'm some god at bullet hell games, i practiced, over and over, got the enemy patterns down, the boss patterns, and a decent gun or two, and that was just enough.
If this game is expecting you to be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOD at bullet hells, then that is just poor design.

Even the level 1 bosses kick your ass if you never fought em before, but atleast they're encountered again very easily. This is just a really bad design choice, though...
Oh well... Maybe the blessings are powerful enough from the few things i heard to almost guarantee another shot at those bosses.
Meh, so far for my hopes and efforts. Suppose i should unlock more stuff first, that's the only feasible thing to do...

The Sorceress blessing only makes the game harder and more unpredictable, sorry to disappoint you.

If you haven't noticed, there's a lot of complaints about the game's difficulty, but yours is the first one I see about the bosses from the past. Mainly because they suck so hard that most people manages to kill them in their 1st or 2nd try.

Maybe you just panicked and lost your focus? If you want to practice them without beating the whole game you can just watch a video of someone killing them.

Eh, lots of projectiles, bound to ♥♥♥♥ up, and you only got 3 hearts to work with. I had no chance facing that thing out of the blue. It's like trying to beat a level 3 boss you never fought before, without a good boss-killing gun, the odds are anything but favourable. Even less so if bullet hell isn't your main thing.

Maybe another time, but the problem is that it'll take ALOT of time. At this rate i really wouldn't mind if they added an easy mode, just for this bit. Though i wouldn't be suprised if i changed my mind about that later, practice helped alot. If i ever GET to practice this.

Don't worry, You'll probably beat him on the second try. His patterns are pretty easy. I personally have beaten him on a first try, but to be fair I panicked a bit when the battle started.

I love these. They truly give you a sense of improving from being the guy who died at the Gatling Gull and Bullet King.

I got murdered the first time I fought the pilot's past because the dodge roll threw me off. Flawless'd the second.
PillowsNeps Apr 19, 2016 @ 1:10pm
pilot is only one that i beat in second try. rest of them just a regular boss. almost screw up the convit past( one hit left and boss is half bar away ammo run out)

You get real, real good at the forge if you unlock the shortcut and try for past runs. If you can beat dragun with crap weapons you can probably clear forge with starting pistol plus 3 random guns, so a quicker route to the pasts.
Odin Apr 19, 2016 @ 1:49pm
Beat them all in the first try. Hardest to easiest for me was: Pilot| Marine| Convict and hunter.

Convict and hunter were both really easy. They all have the same paterns apart from the spaceship. If things get to hard just pause the game and cool down. Stress won't help you and neither does the 170 hearthbeats a second.

Guess i just had to bump into the hardest of the bunch too, huh. Though he's the most beneficial/easiest(?) character to work with inside the dungeon, because his skills last the entire run (gotta love it when lockpicks work, skimming a bit off item prices helps too).

Guess funding the second and third shortcut has its merits too, maybe. Though that would rely even moreso on finding a decent gun, atleast its a quick restart. Well, atleast that gives me something to do.
RickyPrickle-san Apr 19, 2016 @ 5:44pm
They're all easy though.
