Question about the free gun for floor 3 shortcut

So I recently unlocked the shortcut to floor 3 and get 3 free guns I can choose one from, but they're all really bad, are these set or will I get to pick from different ones after a while?

I have a theory, that if you intentionally let the rat steal your weapons, he can give you better ones on the later floors.

Never tested it though.

Would be an interesting mechanic, guess I'll give it a try.

They change once you beat a boss. Not sure if you need to beat a boss using a shortcut or just in general. Haven't had a chance to test that yet.

I beat a boss once on the third floor shortcut. I think one of the guns changed.

Yeah, I did a run from chamber 1 to 3 and still got the same guns.

Too bad I got the friggin Treadnaught 6 times in a row, I just want non-sh*t starter guns :(
