Chest Tiers and their mechanics?

Probably been a bunch'a other threads on this, but I have my curiosities.

From some of the patch notes I've read, I got the assumption that chests can contain any item in the pool, it's just up to RNG to decide what item tier you get from that specific tier of chest.

Or does each chest tier have its own specific pool of items?

And, from what I've noticed, the chest tiers from least to greatest go: Br, Blu, G, R, Bla?

48 hours and no rainbow chest here. I usually get at least 1 secret room a full clear, but I can't say I actually go looking for them.

I can't say for certain what drops from which chests or how the pools might intersect, but I tend to avoid brown chests like the plague unless I have nothing by the time I hit the end of floor 2 and I have no other choices. Blue chests seem to have some good offensive passives more often than green; I feel like blue tends to lean more towards the passive territory where green leans more towards mid-high end guns. Green is the consistent run winner for me and it hasn't gone wrong yet.

Don't just skip brown chests because they're "low-tier".
