Report a translation problem
I've died to bosses in Dark Souls where they literally had a hit left remaining. Not getting a bonus item because I screwed up even though the fight was almost over is fine.
Removing all stress from the game would be a bad thing. Even the minor annoyances like this one.
what do you guys think?
Then again, I personally think that there shouldn't be a penalty if the boss hits only my armor and no HP. But that'd make it too much like Binding of Isaac.
Use extras to look for secret rooms. Easy money.
"Fun" is a subjetive term. What is fun to you might not be fun to someone else and viceversa.
EtG's main selling points are 1) the amount of guns and stuff and 2) the very high difficulty. If you don't enjoy difficult games, you might as well admit this game is not for you and move on.

And about the topic at hand, yes, it is frustrating to get hit at the last second, but no, you should not get the extra reward if you do.
