Quick Question About Duct Tape
Considering how duct tape makes your currently equipped weapon fire the projectile of the next, could you theoretically get a gatling gull minigun that shoots BSG shots if you combine the two?

I just threw the Disintegrator Cannon onto the Gamma Ray. Gamma Ray poisons things while waiting for the Disintegrator to warm up and blast away. It's been pretty fantastic so far.

I had ice pick and coconut launcher combiend. (grenade showed up as main ammo)

I had to reload every 3rd shot if i wanted to fire icepick. So they keep their "ammo" independantly i guess. Getting guns with about the same ammount of ammo should work the best. Golden gun and awp or somethign like that.

Just duct taped a Scrambler to my Polaris.

Polaris is still only firing Polaris rounds, throughout the whole clip. At least while it's level 3. So basically just wasted both the duct tape and the Scrambler.

I actually made a working combo!

Mahoguny + Comm4ndo

For the first 4 shots, Mahoguny would shoot rockets in addition to the regular shots, but only for the first 4 shots. After that, I'd have to reload the gun to get the rockets again. Basically quadrupled the Comm4ndo ammunition though.

As it does factor charging and stuff, and it factors the initial gun's reloads and ammo pool. Personally I think the ideal set up would be whatever gun has the biggest ammo pool, and fastest reload.

Charge shots are definitely a bad idea because they'll still be at the same fire rate as ever, while being paired with a wasteful fast shooting gun, but what about something like a bow attached to a minigun?

I've found tape twice, the first time I combined them was flare gun and crossbow accidentally, it was at least functional. Biggest issue is crossbow's ammo pool didn't support it well. I forget what it was the 2nd time, it was another trash combination. All I remember is both ate through ammo since it counts shooting them both.

Well, for anyone that wants to combine actually well: remember the gun you have selected is what's gonna be the ammo pool, the next gun in your list is what gets attached to it. Dropping both of them and picking up in order is probably best way to tailor is correctly.

The bullets are both still independently fired, with different travel time, which can be annoying sometimes. Seemingly according to thread magazine size of 2nd gun does carry over in that it will stop shooting the 2nd gun after you've used that number of shots.

I'd guess that the ideal 1st gun is something with a large ammo pool, and a FAST reload time. The 2nd gun ideally is as high damage as possible non charge weapon, and the bigger it's original magazine is the less it'll rely on reloads.

Maybe there are better combinations out there, two fast guns could have merit since you'll have to reload for the slower gun anyways, but they'd also eat that ammo up.

Something like combining heroine into composite gun might actually be one of the strongest combinations, with both being charged weapons, and heroine being extremely ammo efficient, with a fairly fast reload, but it's less absurd.

Doesn't always work as planned, though. See Polaris + Scrambler. There is no reason Polaris shouldn't be shooting an egg every first or last shot of a magazine.

Has anyone used weapons with utility reloads (huntsman, beholster, betrayer's gun etc) as the second gun? Does reload effects apply to the duct-taped result?

As the first weapon it obviously does, but perhaps you want a gun with a better reload or bigger magazine.

Thanks :ontoagoodthing:

I don't imagine so, at least with the Huntsman. Since the primary gun is the one that keeps the graphic, and the Huntsman is tied to a specific reload animation, I imagine the duct tape only preserves the primary gun's reload rate and effects.

That doesn't mean that taping on a decent shotgun or machine pistol wouldn't still be handy though. Those would probably be decent combinations.

Don't know how well known this is but if use a base gun with two fire modes (ant gunt, ice breaker etc) it will only fire the combined shots on the type of ammo it was on when you combined them.

I combined an M16 with a poxcannon, and it only fired the pox shots during the grenade clip, and fired normally during the bullet clip.
