think you're missing the point. OP isn't asking for more roll directions, just an option for it to be tied to the mouse cursor instead of keyboard/joystick (so that it goes in whichever of the 8 directions the cursor is closest to, same as it works with the other control methods...)
I usually ignore this item because of that nonsense, before the 4th floor, because i will get a Wallmonger fight if i pick it up. Grrr.
That's nonsense though. It makes it actually harder to dodge since you have to pull your cursor from boss to where you want to dodge and then go back, instead of just pressing two buttons.
Very rarely you want to dodge towards the boss and that's the only scenario in which this control scheme could possibly be more convinient.
So no, i don't think i missed the point at all.
It's funny how militant people get over this issue. Some people are just used to dodging to cusor, they find it more responsive and less clunky. If adding a small checkbox to the options menu would fix this, and not affect you in ANY WAY then what is the problem? Your just telling people they can't have something because you feel you don't need it.
Now if the developers explicitly said that dodging to movement is an integral part of their game design, then fine. I'm not going to tell you how to design your game. But i'm not aware of any instance of them making such a statement.
Also the dev time it'd take would probably not be enough to prevent you from getting any of the content that's planned, chill. It's just an option.
well.. except you very obviously did when you thought the OP meant something entirely different than what he actually meant.
True, reckon anyone would get mad if I asked for the option to change the crosshair color? I do have trouble differentiating certain colors.
Look I'm not trying to flame or troll, I'm just asking for something that would make the game playable for me, it's a really fun game but I really struggle with the dodge mechanics as they currently are.
I dunno, but that's a cool dog in your user picture.
I've always been a keyboard (and mouse whenever applicable) user. I don't use joysticks or controllers or pads or tablets or anything like that. OG mechanics for the win.
