Getting master rounds should be easier.
Its just too hard to get them right now. I think that taking armor damage should not negate the master round, that would make getting them a bit easier and more fair..

Eh, given how rare armor is, i wouldn't mind, Isaac uses a similar system if i remember right... But of course, stupid elitists will naysay any idea that adds a bit of convenience to the game, or fairness, or anything anti-frustration.

Why it'd make getting the 5th floor's boss round actually DOABLE without an insanely good setup, an army of blanks/invulnerability items, or praying he doesn't spam tracking breath or daggers, or homing skulls cornering you during another attack.
It would also benefit a certain secret...

Wouldn't count on it though, the developers seem sadistic and hell-bent on making the game a living hell to get fancy anything done in. You won't find the lucky god item setups in here like there are in Isaac, no fun allowed in this one. Either you're MLG pro or you're not getting anything.

It's not fair because people who had armor drops would have better chance of flawlessing the boss vs people who didn't, shifting the game towards reliance on RNG rather than reliance on skill

It's fair and simple as it is right now: don't get hit = achieve mastery
"It's not fair because others can do something I can't" is a very libtard way of thinking, pls no

It has nothing to with convenience or frustration, you just want to make game easier and less reliant on skill, aka less fair. This is not "press x to win", you have to do your best

The Dragun is easily doable and there are people who cannot even imagine NOT beating the dragun with ANY setup

git gud

Also, if you look at the description for each master round in the ammonomicon, each one explicitly states that they are dedicated towards mastery and perfection of the floor its from.

and yet.. you are allowed to take damage on that floor. Odd.

Hey, I didn't publish the description. But you are right, if anything based off of the description, it should be more difficult, but then it probably be one of the most difficult acheivements in the game and I can imagine the number of posts skyrocketing about how its too hard.

I thought this was how they worked at first, because the very first master round I got was by doing an entire floor and boss without getting hit.

This ruined my motivation on several boss fights when I thought I already had failed the requirement.

I wanted armor to insulate the chances to get Master Rounds, too. Then I got gud.
Carrier Pidgeons May 16, 2016 @ 5:16pm
Master Rounds are supposed to be a tough achievement per run, keeping you on the edge even when you're relatively good. Having armor mitigate it would end up with more carelessness and less of an "edge of your seat" feeling.

Uh, I don't know if you know this, but, like, item drops can vastly change how good your run is, and your chance of flawlessing bosses.

Like, a pilot who picks up a mega douser in one run is going to have a statistically smaller chance to flawless the first floor boss than a pilot who gets the comm4nd0 in another run on the first floor. The armor RNG is like, the least influential factor in this theoretical scenario.

And besides, you can just buy armor. It's not exactly rare.

Lead God is starting to get exhausting anyways. I've kinda stopped caring now, it makes me want to quit OP runs because I feel I'm wasting my time.

I strongly recommend you do Boss Rush with the Hunter; she guarantees the first 2 chamber rounds by crossbow alone. Also nobody can hate pupper!

Don't you have to unlock boss rush somehow?

You get it once you unlock the 5th floor elevator.

Uh, but, like, if the pilot practiced the first bosses well enough, the increase isn't substantial at all, which brings us back: it's about skill, not about RNG m8

There are also items that increase movement speed, dodge power, etc. that are gonna make flawlessing the boss easier; but if you still get hit with them, you've still made a mistake. That's the concept of a flawless

Drops make it harder to maker a mistake, they don't allow you to make mistakes in the first place, which is what you're suggesting; the rest of your post doesn't help your case either
