Stealing from shops.

Some items in the game allow you to steal from the shops, Smoke Bomb, Decoy, Exploding Decoy, Grappling hook, box and others. I've found that say you steal twice (if you steal twice you're caught and the shop closes) on floor 4, the blacksmith at floor 5 will be closed. What I was curious about is if I've stolen from Mustache dude and then try to steal from Ogre guy does that count as 2 steals or not?

Well tried stealing twice from the blacksmith in one run and all the wares just disappeared, but otherwise you could ask her just fine about the bullet and stuff. Getting caught stealing stuff also seems to remove EVERY shop's goods, stole a (second?) thing from the shopkeeper and the alien guy in the room next to him just made his wares disappear as well, along with the shopkeep.

I wouldn't know for sure though, if stealing from two different shops on the same chamber get you caught, but since they're linked in the way of not selling goods anymore when caught, i would assume you do get caught if you do so.

I definitely had a run where I stole from both the main shop and Flynt (key shop) on one floor. Didn't cause shops to close entirely.

I have also stolen from two different shops adjacent to each other (green guy & normal shop), and wasn't caught.

Stealing from the main shop twice in a run (or getting caught) closes every shop. Its possible to steal once from every other npc without anything else closing.

You mean twice in the same floor, right? I stole from the merchant in every floor, starting from the very first, until the fourth (when I replaced the box with double vision).

It's twice in a run. Stealing from the mini shops works differently than the main shop.

when i get a item that allows me to steal then i steal up to 4-6 items in a single run. the only problem is the increasing curse.
