Why is there no online multiplayer?
Enter the gungeon is a fun game and all, but I was wondering why an online multiplayer was not implemented in the final product. I know there is local coop, but when you're in college it's hard to get you and your friends to come over due to different schedules and different locations. Maybe I'm just ignorant and there is an online multiplayer aspect that I can't find. If there is please feel free to inform me. Otherwise I'd like to know why there isn't an online multiplayer in the game to begin with.

because making a lag free bullet hell game is really hard to do and the devs didnt think they could make it work without problems so they focused on singleplayer and local coop. If they ever do online multiplayer it would have to be a separate game like dont starve and dont starve together.

Probably because netcode is difficult

Because the team realized that they could feasibly add local coop to the single player game they made but had 0 experience working with netcode and didn't want to push the release date back 6+ months to try to add something that might have ended up being horrible due to how heavily small amounts of lag can affect a bullet hell game and no framework for it being built into the game from the very start.

Can you imagine a bullet hell game where being precise is super important, with lag? People would complain about how laggy it is and even if it wasn't super laggy, the tiniest big could mess up an entire run. Local coop wasn't even going to be the game until way later in development. I'm not trying to be mean, I just want to point out the reason why. Also there is a thread somewhere where the dev answered why online co-op isn't in the game, Idk where it is, I'll find it and bring it here if I do

Didn't think you were being mean and if you do find the thread that'd be awesome. Thanks!
