Seeing as the PS Vita is a wasteland of missed opportunity on Sony's part and it's officially stopped being manufactured, I would guess no.

But, wouldn't it be a great platform for the game seeing that the game is third party and the vita is practically made for it

No it wouldn't sadly the Vita is not a great platform for anything anymore.

The Vita simply has no market, there is no money to be made with a port to that system and thus developers have basically no incentive to ever even attempt to do a port of their game, investing resources without much of a pay off.

But what about games like Crypt of the Necrodancer, Risk of Rain, Rouge Legacy, Hotline Miami, Binding of Isaac, and Nuclear Throne?

Mistercowman don't listen to them - they misinformed you - Sony is not only still manufacturing and supporting but they've just annouced 2 new colour schemes for Vita Slim on TGS 2016 just forget about new and fresh triple A titles like Killzone or Uncharted but ENTER THE GUNGEON is a INDIE pixelart title like many many more. Market for PSP and VITA is PLAYSTATION STORE and It's not going to stop running - market is dynamic, even in Poland we can buy pre-paid cards everywhere. I wish for ETG on VITA too - please gamers make it happen.

Oh yeah, new color schemes because we all know thats whats going to keep a platform alive!

Who cares about those lousy triple A title everyone is always talking about? Much rather have a handheld that might or might not become some support from indie developers despite of the fact that even it's manufacturer has stopped producing big games for it...

On a related topic: Still think that Wii U is going to win the console war.

The game would work well, but i doubt it would be worth it.

I think porting this game to Vita would require a major rewrite. I know the game looks 2D and uses pixel art, but between the depth (the whole game is actually 3D), extra shaders/lighting/effects, rather large floor size, and complicated bullet physics/interactions, this game requires a lot more to run than most expect. Getting it to work well on the PS4 was a big undertaking, and we still drop frames in certain fights; I think getting it on Vita would require substantial work, so it's just not in our future plans right now.
