ah that's a good point
On the same floor you have a regular shop that has some keys and a gun/item. I'd say this is a common situation if you get this NPC right ? There's usually a regular shop as well.
Lets say the gun/item costs 60 and it's a decent room cleaning gun or some passive/active. The keys cost 30. The Ammolet costs 70.
What do you buy ? Would you really buy this Ammolet over anything that's in the regular shop ? Keep in mind that's two keys you didn't buy.
But if I had nothing better to spend my money on, I would get the Chaos ammolet.
MAYBE the Lode stone (very personal preference, I rarely fall down pits but it sucks when that happens).
Anything else, I doubt I would ever spend money on.
And even then I would not take them over a key if I can see myself using said key in the future or a gun that outperforms my current arsenal.
I'm clueless as to why the devs think these are even worth buying for this much money considering every other option the player has and when they actually have any benefit. Also why do they think that these should drop from high level chests. I guess devs expect the player to use Blanks on regular rooms ? But we all know Blanks should be saved for bossfights, like everything else (good weapons, active items) because flawlessing a bossfight out values every other part of the game.
When I go to the key factory- er, I mean, the "shop", I go there to buy keys. Why the hell would I buy anything else? Let alone an ammolet for the Blanks that I dont use. Who thought these items were a good idea? They only take effect with a mechanic that you use once every billion years or so and usually only A: against bosses, or B: to open secret rooms.
And at a ridiculous cost of 70? ....really, who thinks this stuff up?
My best guess is that the devs put them in as a way to polute the item pool so that you want to unlock everything as fast as possible, rather than just buying the best items and leaving the rest.
Considering there's an entire shop type (the blue bullet guy) that deals almost entirely in items that work with Blanks though (and almost all of them are ammolets), this just makes it extra idiotic. Especially since he's a total waste of the already rare "finally unlock a damn NPC" room.
His entire function is to sell the Elder Blank as far as I'm concerned. He fails at this most of the time.
I just... uuuuugh. I have no further comments on this one. Like multiple things in this game, it's just too fantastically stupid for me to deal with.
