Are Ammolets even worth buying ?
Will you buy any Ammolet from the old blank guy for the price that he sells them, over any other item in the regular shop ever ?

- Increases blank damage.
- Blanks have a chance to poison, freeze, and ignite enemies.
- Increases the knockback of blanks.
- Blanks have a chance to poison enemies.
- Blanks have a chance to ignite enemies.
- Blanks have a chance to freeze enemies.

Why would you need any of that ? For 70+ coins ?

Oh but i am talking about the NPC and how worth his items are for the prices he is selling. So far i got that if you don't RNG an item that these items are useful with then the NPC is useless. Trying to establish how often you get both the NPC and the needed combo item in the same run right now :P

Don't forget that armor acts likes a blank when hit. That will be your most common blank-like item.
ah that's a good point

Not often, but it happens.

I would buy the Chaos Ammolet
So lets say you DON'T have any item that works with that Ammolet besides blanks and Armor. No passives or actives that would work with it.

On the same floor you have a regular shop that has some keys and a gun/item. I'd say this is a common situation if you get this NPC right ? There's usually a regular shop as well.

Lets say the gun/item costs 60 and it's a decent room cleaning gun or some passive/active. The keys cost 30. The Ammolet costs 70.

What do you buy ? Would you really buy this Ammolet over anything that's in the regular shop ? Keep in mind that's two keys you didn't buy.

I would never buy an Ammolet over a key or a decent gun.

But if I had nothing better to spend my money on, I would get the Chaos ammolet.
MAYBE the Lode stone (very personal preference, I rarely fall down pits but it sucks when that happens).

Anything else, I doubt I would ever spend money on.

I would only even consider ammolets if I have table tech, owl or elder blank as ways to trigger blanks consistently.

And even then I would not take them over a key if I can see myself using said key in the future or a gun that outperforms my current arsenal.

It's nice when you get them in chests but I wouldn't buy them unless I han a surplus of casings, or if you can steal the one you like if you can steal and handle the 1 point of curse.

So can we all agree that these prices are way to steep for Ammolets ? Some of them he sells for 100 even.

I'm clueless as to why the devs think these are even worth buying for this much money considering every other option the player has and when they actually have any benefit. Also why do they think that these should drop from high level chests. I guess devs expect the player to use Blanks on regular rooms ? But we all know Blanks should be saved for bossfights, like everything else (good weapons, active items) because flawlessing a bossfight out values every other part of the game.

There's only one case I can think of where ammolets are useful. If you get a Blank Companion's Ring and an instant cooldown active item (such as iBomb Companion App) you can fire a free blank every 5 seconds or so. Table Tech Blanks is ok but I wouldn't spend money on ammolets for that because there's not always tables available.

They're very useful in conjunction with elder blanks (and cigarettes) or an owl, but on their own they are a bit underwhelming.

The lodestone ammolet stuns. I like that one. The others can burn in hell.
Misery Apr 27, 2016 @ 5:55pm
No.

When I go to the key factory- er, I mean, the "shop", I go there to buy keys. Why the hell would I buy anything else? Let alone an ammolet for the Blanks that I dont use. Who thought these items were a good idea? They only take effect with a mechanic that you use once every billion years or so and usually only A: against bosses, or B: to open secret rooms.

And at a ridiculous cost of 70? ....really, who thinks this stuff up?

Yeah, I have to agree that I'm baffled at how many there are and how often they show up compared to how useless they are with out one of a few combos that I've only ever seen once or twice in my many play throughs.

My best guess is that the devs put them in as a way to polute the item pool so that you want to unlock everything as fast as possible, rather than just buying the best items and leaving the rest.

Considering there's an entire shop type (the blue bullet guy) that deals almost entirely in items that work with Blanks though (and almost all of them are ammolets), this just makes it extra idiotic. Especially since he's a total waste of the already rare "finally unlock a damn NPC" room.

His entire function is to sell the Elder Blank as far as I'm concerned. He fails at this most of the time.

I just... uuuuugh. I have no further comments on this one. Like multiple things in this game, it's just too fantastically stupid for me to deal with.
Milk Apr 27, 2016 @ 6:45pm
If they also gave you blanks, they wouldn't be a bad deal IMO.
Knifight Apr 27, 2016 @ 8:20pm
Yeah, I agree, I kind of wish they weren't there or at least that I could see them way less often. It's frustrating to go into a shop and see so much potentially good RNG wasted on items that are very nearly useless to me in 90%+ runs.
