Frifle's quests are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boring.
Of all the activites that are mundane and monotonous in EtG, these quests take the turd-encrusted grand prize. All that remains for me to do in EtG is complete 7 more of Frifle's quests. I've bought out all of Cadence's goods, had multiple successful Lead God runs, and have achieved everything except Weird Tale and the two bugged achievements.

Why are the requirements for Frifle's quests so stupidly high? 30 Lead Maidens for 1 of 15 quests, really? The player is lucky if two spawn on Floor 2. This puts the Weird Tale achievement on the order of dozens of hours of mindless grinding to unlock, after everything else has already been achieved. To make matters worse, when the elevators are used, you are not rewarded with credits after boss kills, thus the player cannot farm rare spawns and credits at the same time.

The word 'achievement' should perhaps be re-evaluated here, because in the real world an achievement typically implies performing a feat that tested our skill, talent, or determination that is respected by others when accomplished. In the nerd world, if achievements were analogs of real world achievements, then grindy bullѕhit achievements like Weird Tale would be the equivalent of being congratulated by your parents for working 15 years in a shoe factory assembly line in Indonesia.

My adventures in Enter the Gungeon were fun, but they are over. By my own standards, I've seen everything in the game that there is to see. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Ok.

Think I have 10/15 done on this, and I agree the required number of kills should be lowered by something like 50%, at least for certain enemy types. In theory it's a very neat little side quest, but seeing those numbers just turns me off.

I do wonder why Hegemony credits are not dropped by bosses when taking the shortcuts. It's not like taking a shortcut is making the game actually easier, quite the opposite, trying to beat level 5 with 3 guns, no actives or passives and 3 heart containers is much harder than doing a full run. I think it unnecessarily hurts experienced players who shouldn't be required to go through level 1 every time. Why not let players fully enjoy using the shortcuts they worked really hard to unlock?

Maybe it's just me but this "questline" is something that happens naturally when you do runs and isn't something to be farmed on it's own. Yes they can be annoying but i don't see the "big" problem with it since when you do runs they will clear themselves and that's why you get a notice when a hunting quest is completed mid-run.

ps:
You say an achievement is some kind of determination: so if you really grind these quests then this is determination on your part, isn't it?
Pokemon players also breed for shiny pokemon and are respected amongst fellow pokemon players when they put hours over hours into breeding and get 2000 eggs with no result - just for the determination.

You shouldn't be so concerned about actively hunting the enemies, rather the fact that you get rewards for just playing the game and killing enemies is great ;)

lmao this quests is just something that you get alongside of the normal play. only morons would come to the idea to acitvly hunt them.
Stop playing and come back when the dlc comes out. Jesus Christ.

Incorrect, I've completed all the "normal play" you speak of and am still left with 7 quests to complete.

Wait until you reach the last of the quests, which requires you to kill 10 caped bullet kins.

I'm still on one that has me kill 5 mimics. Before I got the quest, it seemed like half of my chests were mimics. As soon as I got the quest, it took 10 runs before I found any, and it was 4 mimics in one run.

Still need one more mimic. They won't spawn.

the cool thing is, as a reward to the quest you get an item that turns all chests into mimics :D :D

That's not even true, so don't make stuff up.

Anyway: I agree with OP. The quests are tedious for the sake of tediousness. The enemies that only spawn maybe 2 in a whole run shouldn't require 30 kills. That's insane. If you don't go out of your way to hunt specifically those enemies, it'd take you 15 game clears to get it which is roughly 15 hours.

Forget that noise. It's a rarer achievement than Lead God, which is easily the most difficult achievement to get in the game.

I just wanted to see how the author of the post would react to it. :conwayfacepalm: Nevertheless, Frifle's Quests are the most tedious aspect of Enter the Gungeon. They were great in the beginning, because asking 30 kills of a common enemy is reasonable. Like mentioned, it's when you're expected to get 30 kills of a rare, floor-specific enemy that the questlines become a chore.

Ya, the way they are now, you end up having to actively hunt them since they took so long it ends up as one of your final unlocks.

I completed it. Believe me, Lead Maidens are FINE. Wait until you get to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Shambling Rounds, which imo were even rarer.

I think that the required amount for floor specific enemies should be halved or divided by 3.

10 Lead Maidens would be a few total runs, 2-3, which would work fine. 30 is like 10+ which sucks.

Shambling Rounds take like 20.

Every other quest is like 2-3 full runs of the game but yeah, they need serious rebalance because some of the items you unlock are really useful.

By the way, is there any difference between the Ring of Mimic Friendship and the Mimic Tooth Necklace?

Mimic Tooth Necklace makes every chest a mimic by default, which is great for key conservation. Ring of Mimic Friendship works in unison with it by making all mimic chests friendly, so you can open them without a key.
