Corsair Gun trick
Open the door for the next room, don't enter, leave it dark, shoot 3 or 4 corsair gun shots and most of the enemies will be dead.

Does it actually work?

Apparently the enemies spawn even before you enter, so you can shoot with any weapon to damage the enemies.

Kinda cheap though.

It works. Only time it backfires is if you're doing it on a chest room without realizing. You can also do it with other weapons as well, like plunger, fossil gun, and other homing/ricochet guns. Usually the bigger problem is ammo.

It can be a nice help for accessing the second secret level, though.

Sort of cheesy, but then again, the game also does it's fair share of cheesy BS against you.

I'm not sure if it can be done against bosses, the boss door seems a bit finnicky.
