The Sling!
Just found out that a hidden mechanic of the sling is it does extra damage to bosses. This is intentional. Found out on gungeoneers.com guide. Killed Gatling Gull in 13 hits. It basically does as much damage as a rocket!

It's not really a hidden mechanic when it even says that it does more damage to tougher enemies..

Yeah the Sling is pretty amazing. Kills most bosses in about 20 hits or so! Definitely the best brown chest weapon I've ever had.

Maybe that's the reason it does extra damage vs bosses...? :)
