But anyway, Gunther even does higher DPS. Gunther can dump its entire magazine in 1.5 seconds, and does 180 damage with a full magazine. Then has a 1.2 second reload. Casey does 100 damage with a fully-charged swing, takes 2 seconds to fully charge, and reloads in 1 second. Some bosses do have bullet patterns can exceed 100 damage on reflect, but don't fire these attacks regularly enough to get them exactly on CD constantly. And some bosses just don't even have that at all.
Bosses like Wallmonger, and Ammoconda constantly fire projectiles that are grouped up together. They die very quickly to Casey.
Im not saying Casey is a direct upgrade to Gunther, but like I said, there is no best weapon. There are a lot of weapons that can do crazy powerful things that Gunther can't do.
You're still bounded to key use until you end up with the Shelleton Key / AKEY-47 / Mimic Tooth Necklace. FYI
I disagree. While Im not trying to argue that Casey is better than Gunther, Im just saying that there is no best weapon. But you turned this into a Gunther vs Casey flamewar, so screw you.
With Casey, you can hide behind walls, pop out, and instantly destroy the enemy with zero risk. With Casey, you don't have to worry about dodging shotgun kin's shots, you can just reflect them, and destroy the enemy. You can even use it to one-shot jammed blue shotgun kins if you don't have any damage boosts from passives. With Casey, you can quickly get rid of your problems you otherwise wouldn't be able to get rid of without a Casey (or any weapon that can one-shot). Sure, there are situations where it would be safer to have a gunther, but there are also plenty of situations where I wish I had a Casey.
Do you really wanna keep this going?
With Gunther, you can hide behind walls and instantly pop out and destroy enemies too. And they won't even have to be as close to you as they will with Casey. Enemies also aren't *completely* dumb, and many won't shoot at you while you are behind a wall, waiting instead to fire as soon as you do step out. Casey also isn't some magic protection from every enemy bullet. There's a reload and then charge time between every swing. You will definitely still have to dodge or hide for some shots in a room. Gunther can usually just walk in and spam shoot the entire magazine, with homing and piercing you rarely will even need a reload per entire wave.
Anvillain is super nice. But that 70 max ammo really holds it back.
Gunther's ambush is not as good as Casey's ambush. Sure, enemies don't have to be as close, but enemies tend to be close anyway. Plus Casey's range is longer than it seems. I never said Casey has magical protection. Casey's reload, and charge time isn't. that. bad. It fills in the gap between you killing the enemy, and you killing the next enemy. After you kill an enemy, you move to the next enemy, and while you're moving, you reload, and charge, and thats assuming if you didn't knock that first enemy into the second enemy. Hey, you know what Casey doesn't have to deal with? Bullcrap homing bullets running into walls when you're trying to kill somebody else.
Another thing to note is that when you get Casey, you get the entire package. When you get Gunther, you have to level the annoying ♥♥♥♥♥ up through many rooms, and even an entire chamber. Sure, its a beast when you level it up all the way, but it starts off way weaker, which stings if you got Gunther at the later chambers. Not only that, but Casey is cheap in shops, more common in shops, more common in general (brown chests). Sure, Casey gives curse. Curse can be bad if you have too much of it, but curse gives you more money, higher chance of chest mimics which is good for not wanting to spend your keys, and curse is good with items like cursed bullets, and sixth chamber.
