Unlocked the Finished Gun, the Unfinished Gun Still Dropped

I haven't ever held the finished gun, but I unlocked it in the ammonomicon. The unfinished gun dropped from a chest instead of the finished gun? Do I have to do something else with the unfinished gun?

That's not how it works. Once you unlock everything in the Ammonomicon, the Unfinished Gun is replaced by the Finished Gun.

Some people have had trouble with getting the Finished Gun to unlock like it's supposed to for whatever reason, myself included. I have everything unlocked, but the Ammonomicon still shows the Unfinished Gun. Maybe it was because I started using mods that added items while I still had a couple vanilla items left to find. *shrugs* Oh well.
