Online Co-op
Just so it is clear, I am not asking the devs to implement online co-op. I am showing you guys a way to do it. I looked at the Steam Guides and it seems someone has yet to mention the game streaming software called Parsec[parsec.tv], which will allow people to play any game that only has local co-op online.

There are a few things you should know before trying this.
  • At least one of you need to own a controlller.
  • Parsec will stream the host's entire desktop to the client. You, as a host, can disallow control and disconnect clients at any time.
  • You will need good internet connection, if your connection is bad there will be very noticeable lag. Upload speed is important for the host, while download speed is important for the client. Distance also affects latency.
  • You don't need an NVIDIA graphics card for this to work. You do, however, need to meet certain requirements[faq.parsec.tv] in order to host. The requirements will be a lot lower for the client.
  • Only the host needs to own the game.
To start, go to the Parsec website[parsec.tv] and have you and your friend download and install Parsec. You will also need to make accounts. Once that is done, open Parsec.
  1. Click on "Friends", which will bring you back to the Parsec website where you can find your friend by typing in their username and add them.
  2. Go to "Settings," change them how you like and remember to go back and change them if something feels or is wrong.
  3. After that, have whoever is hosting go to "Host" and turn on hosting. The client should then be able to see the host when they go to "Connect."
  4. Open the game and play.

Good luck and post any questions you may have

There are a couple of services that can do this, including Moonlight, Nvidia SharePlay and even chrome Remote Desktop. All of them suffer from the same issues though. Without lag compensating measures (which can not be built into a service like this) the game can get very frustrating. People with decent internet can get by just fine though

I would make a guide myself but I don't own the game on Steam (GOG).

  • Parsec will stream the host's entire desktop to the client. You, as a host, can disallow control (CTRL + F2) and disconnect clients (CTRL + F3) at any time.

I've said it, but I have a GOG copy and can't make a Steam guide. One of you should, should this work for you guys. Good luck and post any questions you may have
the problem is the delay...with a double fiber is almost null, but if i have fiber and it has adsl is a big trouble

Two of those only work with an NVIDIA GPU, and none of those work as well as Parsec does, in my experience. I was able to play this game (EtG) as well as Cuphead, with somebody who was around 2,000 miles away from me, the quality was good and the delay minor. Parsec has its own networking protocol[blog.parsec.tv] built specifically for this, which makes this service much better than others, which most people have already tried and talked about. I'm posting about Parsec because nobody else has yet, and it easily beats the alternative (Moonlight, etc).

There was no reason to quote my entire post. And yeah of course, like I said, you need a good connection. That's no secret.

No matter how good the programming behind it is there is no path prediction, which is the only way to compensate for intermittent connection. I wasn't saying any of the services I listed were superior, just that none of them, including Parsec, are superior to a system like that

I didn't say that this method would better than online co-op if it were implemented in-game, but that it is a good way to play co-op online in a game that does not have it. Nothing wrong with being informed of why it may not be working well, but there's no reason to say it in a way that'll drive people away from actually trying it in the first place. Obviously, it won't be perfect.

you have not used parsec then. it has features that reduce lag and I regularly play this with a person in canada while i live in texas and the connection is buttery smooth and lag free.

then again we both have good internet.

Not without extra programs to make the game think your kb+m is a controller.
