Abbey of the True Gun, it is worth it?

Let’s just jump right in why people are avoiding the Abbey:
Old king - His attacks are a very harder version of Bullet King, but can be easily remembered because his patterns are similar to Bullet’s, though his insane health is the real problem here, Bullet King has a health of 950 but Old King has as much health as High Dragun (approximately 3800), so it is really worth it to go through him for an extra loot?

If you feel strong enough, go for it. Old King will test your dodging skills probably more than first phase Lich .

Is an S item guaranteed? I don't think so. Even if it isn't though, this floor is usually at least 3 free items if you don't have ♥♥♥♥ luck with keys (4 if you use a blank on a secret room), so if I get the shield to the altar I always go for it.

Defeating him for the first time will unlock the Bloodied Scarf, which is a controversial item. Other than that, there isn't a strong reason to fight him other than bragging rights. You kind of need some S-rank gear to fight him anyway.

The fact that he always drops an S tier is blatantly false. He has the same chances that every other boss.

I always go through the Abbey because I prefer longer runs. You'll have for sure a third chest (Brother Albern one), though his drops are usually worthless. Here I have a doubt: I could swear that since the Supply Drop update I haven't got a good gun/item from him, anybody knows for sure if his drops were nerfed?

Anyway, if you go through the Abbey you'll earn more coin, will have at least three more chests, will go though another Shop (you could find something useful), fight the Old King (I love this fight) and reach third level better equipped.

And I disagree that you need a S-rank gear to fight him, a good B gun will be fine once you know his patterns. Sure it takes time, but in the end is the same that everything in EtG: a matter of practice.

If you fought him like 40 times then go for it, if first, 2 or 3 times, absolutely not. We're being more contemplative rather than decisive about the Abbey, we don't regularly go out of our way to fight Old King that avoiding his attack patterns are as natural as breathing.

Oh sorry bout the “always S drop”, i have 50+ runs in total and i only beaten him 4 times which 4 of those times were all S drops, probably just a spree of lucky drops

If you're trying to massively gear up for a plunge into chamber 6, it can be useful if you have the skills to survive the fight and you have a decent boss weapon since he has like double the health of a normal boss. I just go there for fun mostly, but if I lose my crest in chamber 2 I don't cry over it since the boss can be a pain.

The Blood Brooch is definitely a nice little item to unlock there, so go for it at least once.

I did m8, unlocked the Bloodied Scarf and probably never return to there again cuz ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that chamber consumes my armor and ammo a lot

Congrats! Though I still encourage you to practice the Abbey once you improve your playstyle, it can be hella funny and being better could help you for the final challenge of the game...

I can asure you that once you learn his patterns it isn't as difficult as it looks at first, its just a matter of resistance. Yesterday I beat him with AK-47 + Potion of Gun Friendship.

And I will ask again because I'd love a confirmation from the devs or anyone that knows for sure!:

Oh, I've had lots of that "5 coin" or "Winchester + Heart". What I say is that I don't remember him giving me a B+ item/gun since supply drop and that feels weird because I could bet that before supply drop he used to give me B, A and even S items / guns.
