Console commands, or save state mod?
I am someone who learns from doing, rather from watching. I want to know if there are any console commands, or a mod which will enable save states, so I can practice the rooms, and bosses that are killing me the most?

I don't want to or intend to use something like this to complete the game, however I want something that's less stressful than having to clear floors, waste time, only to fail.

Please don't troll this topic with "Git Gud" spam.

Modthegungeon is probably what you’re looking for. You can give yourself any item to practice with among other things via console commands. It’s not up to date with the current version of the game but there’s apparently a workaround for that

GIIIIIIT GUUUUUUU-

1. something called Mod The Gungeon exists, but im far from an expert on what it does. i mostly think of it as a driver for mods. still, i have heard of people who can enter a ''sandbox mode'' to do various experiments with the game, so try to search after that, maybe you'll find what you need in Mod The Gungeon.

2. if you like to figure thing out for yourself then why do you ask for console commands instead of figuring out yourself how to use them?

3. you practice BY wasting time failing. i can asure you, you are not perfect in the things you think you don't have to practice. the fact that you're stressed from clearing floors, as you put it, is evidence enough. i had 100h of playtime at one point, have beaten even the secret end bosses numerous times, and compared to now, i am far better then when i was 200h ago, even though i thought i couldn't improve.

the game rarely introduces something new, most stuff is just a retread of already existing mechanics but on a different scale. if its something new, then A) you will notice, and B) all you have to do is figure out how to dodge patterns, which takes, like, two or three tries maximum aslong as you pay attention.

for example, when the supplydrop update was new, i, like many others, struggled with the mine flayer, but for only two encounters, afterwards he was as easy as any other boss.

seriously, if you're searching for a shortcut, which console commands are, then you can just aswell save yourself the trouble of installing Mod The Gungeon and just read up on whatever you're having trouble with, or even ask here. alot of helpful people are here who can offer solutions and advise for pretty much any issue you're having.

That is the idea. You learn best from failure, constant failure forces you to learn a different way of approaching a situation and improve. However, for simply learning patterns and practicing against enemies and bosses and trying out different items, you should look at none other than Mod The Gungeon. It's great - you can use the console to spawn in any enemy or boss, give yourself any item in the game and a variety of other things I don't quite understand myself.

That's largely what I want. I want to learn patterns and to better hone when to dodge roll.

I will look into mod the gungeon after work as it sounds like what I'm looking for.

I had the same problem with Don't Starve. I watched tutorials, streams and studied the wiki. It wasn't until I spawned enemies for myself to practice with that everything g fell into place.

Once the stresses of losing the run was removed from the situation I was more able to relax and focus instead of letting panic kick in. That turned to confidence and better decision making in live games.

So I have a Mod the Gungeon client, and it "works." By that I mean it loads the mods successfully, and tells me to have fun, but when the game opens it's forever stuck on a black screen with an aim reticle. I'm not sure how to fix this.
I wanted a save state mod too until I learned it's only 6 levels and that would be boring, it's a game designed around the mechanic unlike something like into the breach where that Mechanic is glued on
