Is there any area where rat won't steal items?

I'm trying to get the television to the blacksmith for robot unlock and it's annoying how I have to keep paying attention not to lose it because it drops when you dodge roll. Going through traps and gaps with it is pain in the ass and sometimes I just forget it drops and move to another room and then the rat takes it.

Is there any way to safely leave the television somewhere until you clear the floor? Like perhaps dropping it in the elevator shaft and leaving it there, or perhaps leaving it in the store?

I usually clear the entire second floor before picking it up, so I was wondering is there a way to clear other floors without having to drag it with you along the entire way.

Yeah, I know. But it's pain in the ass to do in some rooms with one gap after the other and what not. I once threw it over the gap but it went inside instead and it disappeared.

I am currently near the end of the 4th floor, carrying the TV. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it off this time around.

EDIT: Dropped the television in the lava on the last floor. FML!

I think that the rat doesn't touch items in secret rooms but I would check the wiki first. SO you could a secret room, drop off the tv and fight the rest of the floor/boss and get it back before going to the next floor. Its not perfect but it would be better than lugging it around with you for the entire floor.

well the rat wont steal if you're in the same room as the tv. so just drop it upon entering a room and focus on combat then pick it up again.
i'd recommend playing as pilot so you get an additional active slot and try to get a flight item

^ flight item is almost mandatory for this, haha.

Yeah, dropping it as soon as I enter the room is how I play and then I pick it up after all enemies are killed (albeit I forgot to pick it up once so the rat took it lol).

I'm salty about throwing it in the lava on chamber 5 in my previous run. The hammer which can't be destroyed kept going after me, so I panicked and missed while throwing TV and it flew straight into lava.

At least this run was my first victory, so I'm happy about that. I might give up from unlocking the robot for a while, he seems to be frustratingly difficult to play with anyway (unless armor drops more often when playing him).
