Permanent Windrunner Glitch

I was some how able to have the Spurn item grant me the Windrunner gun permanently and have the Spurn orb still orbit me.

I was playing the marine and only had the Shock Rifle as my only gun and Chaff Grenades as my active item. The Spurn item triggered it's transformation when I ran out of ammo with the Shock Rifle. Now, I know it can trigger again if I still had zero ammo and saw that cycle as I ran the second chamber. After beating the boss, another gun dropped. After picking up the gun, i noticed that the Spurn orb was now orbiting as usual and the Windrunner did not vanish after a few seconds. I was able to do the rest of the run with the Windrunner out at all times. I had noticed that when other guns were obtained, the game did not auto switch to that weapon like normal.

Something I did not check though was if I could switch weapons. I was afraid that I would lose it lol. It did show up in the Ammonomicon as a seperate gun but I do not know if that is normal for the item.
