(Spoilers) The only bad thing about the AG&D update
Resourceful Rat's third phase sucks. Yes I appreciate the punch-out reference, and it looks pretty cool, but it's poorly balanced. To have to go through such a convoluted set of obstacles as well as a boss fight comparable in difficulty to Lich's, just to get one attempt at an almost-as-hard minigame that's mechanically different to the rest of the game, kinda sucks.

I definitely think that RR's third phase minigame needs to be easier. For instance, refilling the player's health when RR gets knocked down, and making it easier to understand how to dodge certain attacks, because it is NOT made clear that you have to block his spin attack, nor is the exact timing clear when you should attack while he's healing.

rest of the update's great tho, that's the only thing i hate, don't get mad at me

Yeah it does look dumb as hell from the gameplay I've seen. Not looking forward to that part, especially since I've never played Punch Out
It's oppresively difficult. I've now gotten to the punchout phase around 10 times in the past week and have gotten to the third phase ONCE. It takes such an incredibly long and difficult time to even practice the phase that every time I do it I feel rusty. He hits like an absolute truck in his second phase, I've gotten all of the rat items unlocked just through sheer brute force, most keys i've ever gotten at one time is 2 I believe.

I reallllly wish we could practice the phase without ALL of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ required to get there. I'm even a punchout fan, but this is nuts. Nothing you do in the run leading up affects the phase either. Would've loved to at least have some synergy like extra health or Pig etc.

Alternate Punches - Left/Right/Left/Right for maximum damage
Block his tail whip attacks
Dodge everything else
Ignore going for super.

That, in all honesty, should be able to net you a win.

Now if you want more keys then 2 (3 if you perfect him), then you'll need to get the super timing down and finish him off with a super, 3 times. That, however, takes a bit of skill on your part.

Why is it so hard? The 4 chests you can get from him all have amazing items in them, with the exception of the boots, they are game winners by themselves.

Its pretty easy honestly, every attack can be blocked except for his launch and throw I think

I agree. It's so mechanically different from the rest of the game. I don't enjoy it at all and am anxious to finally unlock the last item from him so that I don't have to play it anymore. But stupid Rat Boots keep not dropping.

I got three, even did't finish 3rd round. Max number of keys I believe 5, saw by myself on youtube, some ppl say 6

You can get six if you finish every health bar with a level 3 super

I have no idea how to the super attack works. What even is the button to press on the controller? It says X on the xbox but that gives me a regular jab...

Its the button you use for your active item. You also need to have a charge to use it. You get these when you punch him when he glows yellow (it will put a symbol in the top left to tell you how many charges you have)
