What's the best character to hunt the rat with?
What do you think is the easiest character to get to the Beautiful Prince's lair?

Pilot:
Pros - you can open chests with lockpicks, thus not having to waste money on buying keys, so you can get the Gnawed Key
Cons - Less chance to have enough firepower to actually fight the Rat (Lockpicks didn't work)

Robot:
Pros - Since he always can only get 1 damage you can pray by the Hero shrine at the start so you get more jammed enemies = more money
Cons - Tougher to kill bosses (chance to get Jammed is 50% I think on shrine curse)

Convict:
Pros: n/a
Cons: Don't like her C:

Hunter:
Pros - Dog can fetch up some items (unlikely :/ )
- (semi)Good starting weapon

Or do you know any good strategy for getting to him?

Floor 1 : Buy a key, use both to unlock oubliette. If i found i key, i open green chest or better on the first floor, otherwise, lockpick.
Oubliette : Buy a key. Open 1 blue chest or better, and lockpick the other chests. ( Unless i'm lucky with key drop. )
Floor 2 : Buy the gnawed key. I open the abbey of the true gun before anything else. Once i did, i play the usual way : open every blue chest or better.
Abbey : Buy keys/items, open chests.
Floor 3 : I keep my money to buy one blank, in case i use one on accident. I also buy the key if there one. I fully clear the floor as usual, and go to rat after i killed the boss.

... But really, i play pilot because : chance to open chest if you have no key, and everything in shop ( beside the gnawed key ) cost less, so you can buy more before you buy the gnawed key.

If everything goes fine, i always have 6 full heart, 3-4 weapons and some passive item before i fight the rats.

If you are specifically hunting Rat, I don't think there's any denying that Pilot is the best. His abilities allow him to save resources better than any other character, and he has a *chance* at being more snowballed by that point too.

Thanks, That'll surely come in handy...

Also, I tottaly forgot about the 1.5 level D:
And if everything would go well, should I risk going to old king?

Pilot is probably the best to do it with for a few reasons, but one of the ones not mentioned here yet is, you can use the trusty lockpicks on one of the rat chests.

WAIT, REALLY!? I actually didn't know about that xD Thanks!

I thought that those required special key and lockpicks didn't work on them

If you feel confident against him ( Taking 4-5 hit or less in the WHOLE floor. ) Go for it. A extra item + 2 chests + money + possible key, is worth it. But since it's hard, i don't advise it if you don't feel strong enough for it.

Damn it... I wanted to try out this strategy but lady luck is mad at me I guess...
-Red/Gold chest
-No extra keys
-Got 40 coins at the end of level
-One key in shop
-Brown chest - Lockpick Failed
-Tried to lockpick one lock on grate - failed
-Red chest contained Memento Mori

Yeah, most of the time, i can't open any chest on the first floor.. I still use a key and open it anyway, and i hope that i'll get another key. If i don't, i'll just do a normal run.

Nevermind what I just said :D
Second floor was awesome!
-2 blue chests - both lockpicked
-Blockner's Ghost - brown chest and map
-Lonk - Snowballer
-Brown Chest in secret room
-Room with locked chest, armor and blank - lockpicked
-6 half of hearts storaged
-Vampire lady
-Boxing glove in store

Nice. But be careful that storage heart is gone when you go to the next floor. So be sure to use all of those to the vampire lady. ( 24 x 6 = 144 casing.. that really great when only in the second floor. )

Yeah, but sadly I had to fell in a pit 2 times, not sure if 2 armor was worth it but I'm gonna pretend it was :D

I... Might have made a mistake...

I used Iron Coin 3 times the moment I found it and now I can't find the trapdoor anywhere. I didn't see any rats so I should be in the rooms they cleared up... but it's not there :/

Edit: PHEW! I almost got a heart attack. found it...

Oh geez. There only two thing you can do.

First : Go thought every room, one by one. Try to look for DEAD rats, is there's one.

Second : If there no dead rat anywhere, either restart... Or walk though every meter of room.
