Gnawed Key Cost
Anyone else of the mind that the Gnawed Key seems to cost well in excess of what it should once you've actually unlocked it? The sheer amount of resources necessary to even attempt his fight keeps vexing me; I always feel incredibly stretched between saving up enough dosh and buying keys due to bad RNG on drops.

Personally i'm upset there is one more hurdle to actually getting item from chests (used to be a lack of keys, now its a random rng nonsense removing the items)

The 115 is annoying. probably should be like 90-100. But you know what's really annoying is getting it down to 2 for the initial buy, going down to the 3rd floor, and accidentally using your second to last blank on treadnaught without having enough money to replace it and having to restart not knowing abotu the 115 until you're there and only have about 80.

I was thinking the same thing. I think it should either be moved to the Black Powder Mine, or get a 15 or so shell reduction. I understand having an item of that price for getting the Primer as that was a one time thing that vanishes after use, but the Key is constantly getting reused, even more so if you are trying to get to the Advanced Dragun.

The only ways I can ever get it is by buying a key, and then going down the Oublitte and leaving all chests on the first floor. EVen then I tend to only have enough shells to get it once I clear half of the Gungeon proper as well.

Yeah it sucks. I wouldn't mind the cost so much if you could drop money into it like when you're first unlocking it. That way i can be prepared to buy the other items required.

Even that would be a better alternative. It just feels like, as it is now, having that much spare change by floor 2 is really RNG dependent. Lowering the price, allowing us to pour in money from run to run to lower it, or moving it to the same floor the trap door is on would go a long way to alleviating my frustration with it.

I dont think you're supposed to get the gnawed key every run, just like going to the oubliette, or the 2nd part to that. Thats probably the point of the price for that key. That being said, though, the pilot should have his discount apply to it

That being said, though, the pilot should have his discount apply to it, agreed the one ♥♥♥♥♥ thing about the rat lair is that over 40ish runs ive only found 2 rat notes and i need 4 more to reach the boss...

I do get that, but the barrier for entry is quite a bit higher by comparison. 115 shells, a normal key, and two blanks (or an explosive weapon) is a not inconsiderable investment.

I never had a issue with the price since I go through the Oubliette and save. Even though it hurts sometimes. Also do the Abbey of the True Gun to make sure I have more money just in case I need blanks for the boss on the 3rd floor.

I don't mind the high cost, but the fact that I don't even have enough to buy the key sometimes. I'd rather have the key cost your max ammount of gold collected up to 115, so I can at least have a go at the boss instead of having to restart.

The Infuriating Notes can only appear 6 times ever, if that's what you're talking about. You don't have to worry about Resourceful Rat taking your stuff forever.

Personally 115 is not very much, I have enough every run and never have any issues with blanks.

They made the casings ( money) drop more in this update, before I got 35 casings in the first floor now its around 55.
You can also go to the Oublitte for more money

This is why I've been doing cursed runs just to have enough money (even more money than I need because curse) to get the key.

Then I get screwed over by a cursed rat boss and or even mech. Lovely.

I wished cursed item spawned a bit more often in the earlier floor. I love to get 3-4 cursed. It's just the right amount to get mimics sometime and some spare money.
