Devolver bullets do more harm than good.
1) They can devolve slow and easy enemies into green, quick shotgun shell enemies or AK wielding bullets
2) It devolves small enemies like Blobulin, essentially spawning a new enemy
3) Devolved enemies have full health. Sucks when you're on an enemy's last hit and he devolves.
4) Devolved enemies can be jammed.

Seriously, a terrible item. Great idea, I love the idea of devolving enemies. Sadly, its execution is terrible.

What ,don't devolved enemies count toward the challenges?

He devolved the enemies he needed to kill so he couldn't kill them

I'm honestly not a huge fan of them either, but I wouldn't say that they do more harm than good. Bullet and Shotgun Kin are pretty garbo enemies. I do agree that it's a bit frustrating when you almost had an enemy down and THEN they devolve. But it's not a huge deal. Although this could also be easily fixed by making the devolved enemy have the same percentage of remaining HP.

But anyway, they are awesome when you devolve a Shelleton or a Revolvernant. If the room doesn't have any super theaterning enemies, and you just really hate Shotgun Kin a lot, you can always drop them as soon as you enter the room and then pick them back up once clear.

Think it would be fine if the devolved enemy kept whatever hp % it had before it devolved. It is frustrating to have a new full hp enemy spawn with the last shot that would have killed the original enemy.

I think how much it helps vs hurts depends on the floor you are on.
probably hurts floor 1-3 and helps on floor 4-5.
i would rather a shotgunkin over a skeleton bulletkin anyday.

You know, that's actually a very good point. The entire time I've experienced devolver stuff was early on, I never thought of how it affected late game enemies. Good thinking!
