Please, please, please nerf the Gatling Gull.
Whenever I come across the Gatling Gull, I might as well just Alt+F4 and restart the game. It's nigh on impossible with most standard guns and I almost always die if I have good loot. It never feels like a test of skill, it's the only bad part of this game.

Many people consider the Gatling Gull to be one of the easiest Floor 1 bosses. What aspect of him are you having trouble with? Perhaps we could offer some tips.

I find it just outruns me and fills the area I can dodge into with a wall of random, unpredictable bullets. The only chance of me being able to survive is if there are walls to hide behind, which is only like a 1 in 10 chance in my experience! Not only that but the default weapons usually running out of range means I have to get in close, where I'm most likely to die. Its health pool is HUGE when using the default guns, so it's just a matter of time until I die. If I fully concentrate on dodging, I don't get to do enough damage and I die real quick. If I fully concentrate on damage, I'll get hit a ton and die real quick.
Thanks for the reply

What default weapons does he outrange?

When walking (not doing his "teleport" leap), the Gull is actually slower than all the Gungeoneers. When he's rapid-firing his gatling gun, I find it useful to run backward while shooting at him, giving me more time to see how his bullet pattern is spreading, then dodge-rolling through the bullets when there's an opening.

His two "spread" shots are fairly easy to avoid; dodge-roll parallel to their spread, as dodge-rolling toward the first might mean you get hit by the second.

When his fires his large "ball" shot, remember that it spreads from its point of impact, so you may have bullets coming at you from behind.

His "missile" attacks are your best chance to do major damage to him, since he stands in one place and his attacks have a huge telegraph to them. It's also a great opportunity to use some DoT attack on him (such as the Convict's Molotov).

Keep in mind that even in the rooms which don't have pillars or bookshelves to block his attacks, you can always flip a table.

It is the boss that is the most consistent in movement. Also fun fact it was supposed to be swapped with the beholster in the beginning which is shown in the etg comic.
just take cover as much as possible, if there isn't any, keep a medium distance where you can see the gull to hit it and to know whenever it flies away, but far enough to evade the bullets and get away from the walls where it can trap you, only when you are cornered should you pop a blank and run for your life, you'll get the hang of it.

the beholster is already a pain to newer players, its an even worse idea for it to be in chamber 1

The secret is to try a new strategy. Don't run around him in circles, just stay far away, stand right in the middle of the fire cone, and slightly dodge. When he jumps, get very far away from the shadow so it's easy to dodge the bullets. And when he shoots rings, don't roll away or toward him. Roll sideways (along the ring).

His bullets are actually quite predictable! It's like a 3 way shot with one or two bullets appearing on the "lanes" sometimes. It's easier to avoid getting hit by them by always walking away from it while sidestepping. Here's a gif I just recorded of the fight, and you can see it around 22s in: https://gfycat.com/OrdinarySerpentineJellyfish

Btw the trick to this fight and for the gungeon in general is to not look at where you're aiming, but look at yourself while you shoot at the general direction of the enemy, as dodging is way more important than fighting.

Edit: Here's one without walls: https://gfycat.com/TimelyShamefulBlobfish
At 39s you can see that I was wrong, it's not a 3 way shot but a "cone" with a line of bullets on the borders and a little bit of bullets in the middle.
Still, it's easy to dodge that while walking back due to "paths" being formed inside the cone.

Apparently the gif was cropped to 60s but at the end I'd show that if you are cornered, an easy way to avoid taking damage is to roll diagonally and circle the boss. It can only fire at 8 directions, much like a d-pad, so once you move into a 90º angle his aim just snaps so it's easier to dodge.

you never know true pain until you kill him with only pilot's starter

I don't normally get hit by Floor 1 bosses, but when I do, it's usually Gatling Gull.

For some reason, I always run into the rockets he fires out of his mouth, that land a couple seconds later. I never see the target-marker-thing. Trigger Twins and Bullet King are 'easy' though.

one simple tip tho : if you run as the same as the direction of the bullets ( run backward ) it will be easier to dodge them because they likely to be "slower" than normal bullets. Dodge roll to left and right or dodge backward if your back face the wall , avoid dodge roll toward the bullet .

Lime I usually do, if I do kill him. My luck is just absurd
