On the topic of boss DPS cap.
Do you think boss DPS cap should stay, be increased, or just straight up be removed? Lemme hear your thoughts.

I got no problem with it being there. People shouldn't be able to kill a boss so quickly.

Not to mentuon there are ways to break it anyways.

The Yari Launcher, the Makeshift Cannon, and High Dragunfire all break the dps cap. Hell, with the right items, you can break the dps cap with other guns as well.

It allows for better pacing, but then again, if you have the items necessary to break the cap, I feel like you should be able to.

Maybe make it higher?

It takes insane damage to break the damage cap though

I would probably increase it, or at least implement some kind of damage scaling system instead of a flat cap. The way it is currently implemented normalizes fights a little too much, in my opinion, and makes things feel slower than they need to be. Personally, it's starting to effect the replay value of the game.

It wouldnt even be OP because you'd still have to get enough damage to go over it

Easier then you’d think quite a few weapons (mostly fast firing one’s.) actually can break the cap.
As for why there is a cap that feels slow I assume so you can’t melt and oneshot bosses

It should at least be increased. Even leaving crazy synergies out of the equation, guns like the Big Shotgun are simply wasted if you go for their maximum DPS, at least in earlier floors, because there's the cap limiting you. I actually had to fire more slowly to not "waste" the damage.

It's also pathetically common to occour with weapons like the Cat Claw and Sticky Crossbow.
And the Patriot (I mean seriously? Isn't the entire point of the gun to shoot insanely fast? Why do I HAVE to stop because I'm wasting damage otherwise?).You HAVE to utilize short bursts.

I'd say it should be increased (or maybe removed entirely. It's not really wrong to melt bosses once in a while, you don't ALWAYS get such OP synergies every run anyway and when I do get them I'd like to feel an unstoppable god even with bosses. ESPECIALLY if I've killed everyone so many times that I know their patterns inside and out).

In playing Devils advocate I’d argue the cap is there to pervent melting bosses regardless so that it always takes skill to kill them. If you get an OP combo you can melt a boss and easily get an undeserved master round.

4th chamber boss downed in 14 less then seconds due to a weapon that ignores the cap.
Keep in mind wall monger has 1700+ health. plus the boss DPS cap being removed would basically help the big boy break the game. Hyper light blaster is also made immesurably better, So is casey, So is helix bullets, metronome would be beyond busted for players skilled enough, gunther would be made far better, so would face melter and crown of guns with homing/bouncing shots.
Should I keep on going because I can still name several items that would melt bosses if the cap was removed.

That's why I typed maybe, I'm not fully convinced on that.

Still, limiting yourself in using some of the vanilla guns, without modifiers or anything, doesn't seem very fun to me anymore.
