It wouldnt even be OP because you'd still have to get enough damage to go over it
As for why there is a cap that feels slow I assume so you can’t melt and oneshot bosses
It's also pathetically common to occour with weapons like the Cat Claw and Sticky Crossbow.
And the Patriot (I mean seriously? Isn't the entire point of the gun to shoot insanely fast? Why do I HAVE to stop because I'm wasting damage otherwise?).You HAVE to utilize short bursts.
I'd say it should be increased (or maybe removed entirely. It's not really wrong to melt bosses once in a while, you don't ALWAYS get such OP synergies every run anyway and when I do get them I'd like to feel an unstoppable god even with bosses. ESPECIALLY if I've killed everyone so many times that I know their patterns inside and out).

4th chamber boss downed in 14 less then seconds due to a weapon that ignores the cap.
Keep in mind wall monger has 1700+ health. plus the boss DPS cap being removed would basically help the big boy break the game. Hyper light blaster is also made immesurably better, So is casey, So is helix bullets, metronome would be beyond busted for players skilled enough, gunther would be made far better, so would face melter and crown of guns with homing/bouncing shots.
Should I keep on going because I can still name several items that would melt bosses if the cap was removed.
Still, limiting yourself in using some of the vanilla guns, without modifiers or anything, doesn't seem very fun to me anymore.
