If you lose during the final rat phase, does he continue to steal items?
I picked up the Rat Ring and am wondering if I should just intentionally lose that phase. I don't want to forfeit the benefit of the ring

Though, it is amusing to see him steal something casually despite the fact you witnessed him die before your eyes and whether or not you fed his body to the Wyrm.

Sounds like a good time to find out.

He keeps stealing stuff if you lose. Thanks for the inspiration

You can lave the item you want exchanged on the ground, leave the room and drop an item from the Rat-Synergy. That way you can kick some rat ass and get the benefits of the Rat Ring.

The Rat will continue to steal items throughout your run regardless of how far you got in the Punch-Out segment. The only way to make him stay away is by getting the 'Resourceful Indeed' synergy.

I'm almost positive that defeating him prevents him from stealing items as well, but I'm not 100% on that. At the very least, feeding him to the serpent prevents him from stealing items, I recall runs where I was able to leave items behind in the forge and not have them stolen.

Killing him usually makes him stop stealing items; however, if you have the rat ring, he'll steal items even if he's dead. Might override the "resourceful indeed" synergy as well.
