A secret NPC.

So I was on the 4th floor and found a secret room due to the map, however this secret room contained an old man with a long beard and red robes, he gave me a gun and he was still in the secret room. Anyone ever experience this?

There are several exceptionally rare npcs who are exclusive to secret rooms.

I know,another one was Ser Manuel dressed up as a monster and he also gave me an item

with almost 350 hours in the game, I've seen the old man maybe 3-4 times and just saw the dressed Ser Manuel tonight for the first time (New addition with AD&G?).

Anyway, the old man i sa reference to the original Legen of Zelda where he would give you your starting sword with the words "It is Dangerous to go alone! Take this." and the silver and master swords with the words "Master using it and you can have this." I don't think there's a difference in loot based on your condition but the Zelda character requred you to have enough heart containers for each sword (5 for the silver, 10 for master, if memory serves)

To expand on this he won't give you anything if you meet him in co-op

To expand on that is because he states that traveling alone is 'dangerous', so in co-op he refuses. i don't know what he says since I've never been on co-op

I was too lazy to dig through my pictures since i thought i had already uploaded these beforehand, but i guess this was a good excuse to search for them.
