Gnawed Key Question
So... if you aren't able to get 115 coins by the end of the 2nd floor then you're just ♥♥♥♥ out of luck for getting to the rat's lair? That seems like some serious ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I just had a run where I cleared every single room, didn't spend a single coin, and wound up with 99 coins.

I'm absolutely loving so much of what this expansion brings but wtf is up with this. Why not be able to put a down payment on it one run like you did when it cost 1000? Pay a portion of the 115 one run and then finish it off the next. SMH it sucks not having access to the new area simply because of RNG, especially when you have a promising start to a run (first time pulling Gunther).

wait, didn't it say in the Update Notes that even if you don't have enough you can pay what you have and on the next run the key should cost less?

Confused by this complaint. You give what money you got on you, and it accumulates until you pay 1000, sorta like paying off a Debt. You owe 1000, and you can pay it off no matter how many tries/games it takes.

So if you get 100 and give it 100 every game, it'll take 10 games, if you give it just 50 each game, 20 games. So on so forth.

No, you see, after you take out the 1000 coin debt the key then permanently becomes 115 coins on every subsequent run.

Cursed Runs can help make up the 115 casing price even without going to Oubliette. You should still probably go Oubliette anyway because the Rat's among the hardest bosses in the game, up there with the Lich, and if you're not basically running a gamebreaking synergy he'll humilate you.

The final 115 casing price isn't reduced by playing as the Pilot or finding his Disarming Personality, so playing as him isn't a good strategy for Rat runs.

Make it a cursed run

115 coins at the end of the second floor in not realy a big deal. Even on normal runs without any curse. Just did a run like I normaly do with Oubliette and I had about 190 casings after the second floor boss.

I think of it as a bit of a sacrifice in order to go through the fun of another floor and scooping up more loot. Think of how you have to use up 2 keys in order to get to the Oubliette. There have been many times where I've had to blow up chests on the first floor just to get there, but it's always a fun floor for me. Same with the Rat boss.
