Heart Machine?
So the heart machine seems like a great addition for noobs like me, but it never shows up, particularly on later floors. Do I need to trigger something? Or am I just an unlucky moron?

You stash the heart drops in it, instead of leaving them on the floor in the rooms they drop in. They do not carry over between floors.

When you're full on health and there's a heart on the ground you can "save it for later" and store it in the heart machine (probably to prevent you from needing to backtrack)

afaik once you finish the floor you saved the hearts on, the hearts will vanish instead of carrying over to the next floor.

I thought the whole thing with the hearts was to carry them over the chambers or at least exchange them for money or something. Being honest, it doesn't add anything good, it just exists for the sake of laziness.

It has it downside, like maybe you save a piece of heart for later and you don't find the exit or a shop before you really need it. So, careful with that.

Ok on the switch version it just dosent show up at all and we DO have the update.

yeah, all it is is to save you from backtracking, you can store the hearts on that floor, and recieve them from the shop, exit, and floor entrance (i think). They do not transfer from floor to floor. Only shows up once youve stored a heart. it also shows up on your map so show how many hearts are in it

It's nice that we can save hearts at all, but it's a bummer that hearts do not transfer from floor to floor as it would be really helpful then. It could also be pretty nice if they were added to your hearts as temporary health or if you could just carry the extra hearts you find for instant healing. Then again it would also be nice to carry more than one item. I mean, it feels like the characters can barely manage to carry basic items, but hauling several weapons is nothing.
Anyway, back to the Gungeon.

Didn't even know this was how it worked. kept leaving hearts around and then running around to pick them up when i was going to the next chamber.
