The huge ammo reserve alone makes it a prime choice for duct taping to a stronger gun with a small ammo reserve. Such as Makeshift Cannon.
Charmed bow is, like all charmed weapons, useful
Heck Blaster... seriously? It has DPS that borders on damage cap for 2nd chamber bosses and quite a lot of ammo.
but, I am surprised most people didn't remember Microtransaction Gun. No need to unlock it to look at its stats
+ Generally DPS is decent, along with random effects (+synergy with Mustache which doubles that damage)
- No reliability over what kind of shots you will get. It might easily shoot 2-damage books
- Costs 1 coin per shot
- Its A item, with obvious consenquences
so, if you got Seven-Leaf Clover and Clone and got onto 6th chamber with few hundreds of coins to waste, Microtransaction gun will be pretty decent...
I know, a bit late to join this talk but I simply have to interject here. The Fossilized Gun is only worst without the right combination. True, getting the combination is not the easiest but if you have the gun and a jetpack it becomes and really good room clearer as long as there are no fire immune enemies. I once got this combination pretty early one and was able to clear most rooms very easily by simply lighting the entire room on fire.
but, we were talking here about overall gun usefulness on its own, without counting some specific lucky cases. Synergies may give some points but only if said synergies are plentful enough and are notably useful. In your case, you need flight item (preferably Jetpack) or at least fire immunity for your "room clear" to work, and it won't really work fast and reliably. So even if you get one of those few items it is merely situationally useful, and most of the other time it is dubious at best.
