of course you will lose the bonus if at the boss, and later on if you are not good enough to keep up with not being hit, but for the first one or two chambers its a great item, only going down on usefulness when gotten later on.
Also I said how the "lose on switch" is a major issue, something you completely neglected to even adress.
more damage > same damage
as for switching, i did adress it. unless you run out of ammo there is no reason to switch guns while clearing out the floor. Only on bosses would you want to switch. however if you are particullary good at using your character's starting weapon, like the bullet's for example. there is no reason to ever switch.
also on blessed runs, once again if you can avoid being hit on a regular basis, it makes the run a lot easier as the switching does not get rid of the benefit
I get your frustration, and I agree with you. It is not a particularly good item, in terms of
min-maxing the effectiveness of the item; switching guns removing damage bonus in particular.
(all the work of not getting hit and not switching, then you just get hit by some stray bullet or no more ammo, oh well...?)
But I think it is one of those items that you do not need to worry about if you have good weapons, or good item synergies. And it's only worth worrying about when it's a slow rolling game.
And at this point, of over 100+ hrs of the game,I just treat it as a bonus, an incentive to not switch weapons regularly and not get hit. You can make it work for 50% of the floor, 75-100% if you are lucky. But it's a fun one, when you get it going with Ammo Synthesizer and/or Blue Bandana item. Just absolutely steam-roll through everything.
Oh hey, it's metronome. Better not get hit and switch to a gun that has
Usually just assigning a good enough room clearer for the metronome and saving A-S tier weapons for the boss. (depends on your strategy)
alternatively use sometthing with infinite ammo, it's broken
not being hit
not switching weapons
situations you dont get to keep it
being hit
switching weapons.
idk seems pretty 50/50 to me
Which is kinda sort of the entire point of my post, the fact that the Bullet makes it easy to keep the buff and therefore is a very powerful item on him.
The only good use I've gotten out of the metronome is in the first half of the game, by abusing one of its quirks: if you pick up a weapon you can switch guns without losing the bonus. Which means if you clear the floor with your starter weapon without getting hit, but don't open the chests or buy a gun from a shop until right before the boss, you'll have a massive bonus vs the boss. I've only ever done this with the robot since his gun is way better than the other characters' pistols.
GOD I made the "Rad" Gun so op using this lol
Family sharing is nice but dis iz gud game buy it mate.
