Presuming you mean the old one yeah 8.5 is surprisingly high for what the game was back then. The addition of new stuff in updates and the more generous drops have really brought ETG a long way since launch, and luckily so. It's a great game now.
Even said ambiguous "value" could vary greatly in definition from person to person. Some define value based on how many hours they spent with the game, others -- on how they mentally enriched they felt by the experience.
Of course, the human mind is wired to pick out and concentrate on the negative even in a sea of positives,
But hopefully we are self-aware enough to keep that tendency in check? Promote the good reviews and let the bad ones fade into obscurity,
EtG is a well-regarded, widely appreciated game.
