The hammer enemy in the Forge
So I've finally become good enough to consistently reach the Forge, though I haven't been able to kill the Dragun, yet. Mostly because when I run into the hammer it ruins my run because I don't know how to deal with it. Any tips?

When the Hammer is about to strike, try moving diagonal to where it's hitting. The bullets shouldn't hit you as long as do this correctly, but make sure you have enough space to do it. Dodge roll diagonally if you need a sudden burst of speed.

The way I do it is, when the hammer appears (and the red rectangle vanishes) I move to one direction and as soon as the hammer has smashed the ground I dodgeroll in the direction of the hammer.

I just ignore it, keep running the direction you would be otherwise. after it strikes, you kinda have a second to determine if you have to sidestep a bullet or not.

My last run I had about 5 full hearts, and I come into a room with like two hammers and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of other enemies, and I lost 4 hearts I believe. I guess I just need to get used to it, but the hammer is such a difficulty spike for me, it ♥♥♥♥♥ me over every time. Thanks for the advice, though. :)

I use pretty much the same strategy, but it does get much easier for me if I find any speed upgrades or anything that protects from the fire that it leaves. Also, in that one big room in the Forge, where there aren't any enemies except the Hammer, I usually step inside and out quickly. I don't know how to trigger it consistently, but sometimes when I do it, I can despawn the Hammer and move without worrying about it.

Nobody says that unless someone is like 'This game is all luck based it's not fair WAHHH, there's no chance of doing this wahhh'. that sorta thing.

The way i do this: When the hammer strikes i dodgeroll in any direction and then immiadtely dodgeroll from the bullets. It is hard at the beggining, but now (After beating the Forge few times) i can pass this room without taking damage

Yea, I was afraid that would be an issue posting on these forums, but it seems as long as you don't bash the game, it doesn't happen haha. Just lots of actual advice. :)

Hey hey hey... Why has no one mentioned the hammer is INVINCIBLE. The hammer dissapears after all the other enemies in the room have been cleared. If it's in a room alone, exiting the room through an unexplored exit will make it dissappear
